Car description

For your consideration. a very nice and clean example of an early cj-2a. appears to have been restored quite a few years ago. but I cannot be certain as to when it was done. Actually the paint appears to be aged consistently. along with the original weathered oak hood blocks. Seats are the original leatherette grey fabric . and are in nice shape. along with the original rear seat. Frame is excellent. along with the bumper and gussets that are original to the jeep. There is no rust to speak of. besides some paint missing on the drivers flor due to gas being spilled there. Furthermore. there is mild surface rust on some of the underside areas. but thats to be expected with a vehicle of this age. Overall. the jeep runs great. has a rebuilt engine and transmission as well as complete braking system. At this point after being in storage for over 20 years. the brakes will need a going thru. most likely a master cylinder. and bleeding of the wheel cylinders. Clear Title. . with a little tlc it can be an amazing survivor. Its not too often that you find a jeep like this that has spent most of its days parked in a garage. and never used for plowing . towing or heavy off roading. Still has installed a full set of goodyear NDT tires. which are not dry rotted . or damaged in any way. pretty much the tread appears almost as new. Please email with questions. and note that the jeep is sold in as is where is condition. I will be happy to answer any questions. or to make arrangements for an inspection. Thanks. And good luck On Jan-27-15 at 07:39:47 PST. seller added the following information:Just wanted to mention that the white soft top is in excellent shape. and appears to have been installed back in the 60's when it was a popular color choice. Not weather cracked or dried out. Even the windows are in nice flexible shape. Just wanted to reiterate. the jeep has been in climate controlled warehouse for over 25-30 years. started and driven a little every few months by the original owner. He made it clear that. There was a scratch on the rear corner that was fixed. but. I can't tell where the repair was done. He states the jeep was never fully restored. just kept indoors and never abused. I cannot be certain beyond his statements. but looking underneath one can see light surface rust. On certain areas. If any paint restoration or repair was ever done. I must have been over 30 years ago. The original oak hood blocks must have 45 years on them at least. I will take some more pictures of the underside. just to answer any questions. I have been collecting nice willys for 25 years. and this has been one of my prized possessions. I am saddened to let it go. but I am in the market for an older ww2 jeep so I need to make room. Jeep will need tlc due to long term storage. mainly the brakes should be gone thru. Everything works. and it still has the 6 v generator system. starts instantly. and does not smoke or knock. Transmission and axles feel tight as new. Goodyear tires are in great shape. and must be pretty old as I have not seen any on the market like those in years. No dry rot because it was stored indoors out of the sun. Grey canvas is on all the seats including the rare rear seat. All the canvas appears aged consistently with the age of the jeep. This is as original as they come. and you will Not be disappointed. Please. Call me or email. 845-688-5245Thanks andy
