Car description

1967 Jaguar 3.8S.
Up for auction is an un-restored, mostly original Jaguar. Nicely optioned with air conditioning, factory wire wheels, and we've been told that the car is a four speed manual gearbox with overdrive. In the original owners manual I found a sales receipt from 1976 showing the car was sold with around 32k miles, the car was last registered in 1990 and shows 43k on the odometer, my guess is that those are the original miles. The stamps on the head show it is matching to the serial number on the car. The car had been parked in southern California for many years along with a collection of other British cars, and we purchased it from the estate of the deceased owner.
Last years we had a friend, who is familiar with Jaguars, install fuel pumps, connect the lines and set the car up to be started. We were able to get the engine to fire up and heard it start, but we didn't get around to anything more. This month we attempted to start the car ourselves, the fuel pumps kick on and the engine turns over with the key, we tried to replace the coil (it was not the same as the one we took off, so we haven't connected it back up). The interior has the fantastic vintage Jaguar smell of leather and wood; and is surprisingly good (the wood was missing when we purchased the car and do not have the missing pieces). The paint is not original and looks to be quite old, naturally there are some areas where the paint has reacted to the prep work. The car is amazingly solid with surface scale under the car. The only noticeable rust is pictured in the areas near the right rear wheel. The chrome is in good original condition, as is the weather striping around the doors and front/rear glass is also very good.
The car is sold as-is and as equipped. However, you are welcome to come see and/or have the car inspected before the end of the auction. Payment is due in full within seven days of the end of the sale. California buyers and all in state sales are subject to sales tax, doc., & lic. fees. All vehicles in California over ten years old are sold miles 'exempt'. All documentation must be completed in full before releasing the car. Buyer is responsible for shipping.
****We prefer not to disclose the reserve. Zero or -ve feedback eBayers must contact us before bidding otherwise those bids may not be accepted.
****This vehicle was stored in SoCal but was still titled in Iowa, and come with all estate paperwork, please check with your local authority if that is ok; otherwise we can provide a CA title in our name.....please understand it would take round three weeks to get and send the title after application.
