1971 Jaguar XKE 4.2 Roadster

Gorgeous design combined with high performance make the 1971 Jaguar XKE

a perfect car for the collector looking for a car that is great to look at but also fun to drive.

Not to mention the collector car market has seen Jaguars on a fast track for appreciation.

The private seller tells us that he searched for a very long time to find an XKE roadster in Primrose Yellow and low miles and he finally found this car from the southwest. After purchasing the car in the late 1990s he had the car gone through at a Jaguar specialist and spent $7,446 to make sure that it was in great running condition - see list below. The private seller tells us that this car is a great driver. The car has been babied and garage kept since the current owner has had the car.

The seller does not know if the original Primrose Yellow is the original paint or if it was repainted. However the typical "checking" seen in paint from the early 1970s indicates that this very well could be the original paint. The private seller tells us that he believes the black interior to be original and that it certainly appears original. There are some minor stone chips in the paint that were touched up. There are also some minor flaws such a tear on the shifter that could be sewn. The black convertible top also a small rip as seen in photo.

The carpet is not original. The carpet has been pulled up for the photos so that bidders can see that the floor pans are solid with no rust. The orange/yellow is glue. The seller tells us that the car has never seen salt.

The wood steering wheel is believed to be a rare option.

The engine is a six cylinder engine with a manual transmission. The clutch hydraulic has a new rebuild kit.

The seller is old school and doesn't believe in air conditioning in a convertible so he never turns the A/C on. However the air conditioning worked when he purchased the car (but again he never used it). So he has stated that the A/C currently is not working and may need a charge to the system.
