Car description

Restored 1971 Honda N600 Sedan, estoration completed in early 2014, ow has 1100 miles since the restoration. Most of the pictures are current, fter the 1100 miles were put on it, he exceptions being the last six photos of component closeups and the engine bay. Email me for links to the build pictures if you want to see more detail. Everything was gone through, nd everything works great. Emphasis on mechanical systems and function was a high priority in this build. This car is a blast to drive and gets an amazing amount of attention!

Drivetrain:

Engine and transmission rebuilt. The engine/transmission is the early style like what the car had originally, ut is not number matching. The transmission is sychro-mesh. New rings, iming chain, eals. New bearings in the cooling fan and belt idlers. Carburetor is rebuilt with new seals, nd the point plate is rebuilt with new points and condenser. New battery, lugs fuel filter and belt. Fuel pump is rebuilt, nd all of the hoses to the tank replaced with honda fuel hose. Has had one oil and filter change since the build. Front driveshafts cleaned and lubed with new CV boots, ront struts rebuilt with new seals and oil. All wheel bearings were replaced. Steering rack rebuilt. Tires were all new, ncluding the spare, ll the wheels are powdercoated.

Brakes:

Master cylinder, rake booster, ear wheel cylinders and front calipers rebuilt. Brass sleeves in the master cylinder and rear wheel cylinders. New brakes hoses front and rear, unning DOT 5 silicon based fluid. New front pads, nd the rotors are both above minimum thickness. Parking brake works perfectly.

Interior:

Seats were taken apart completely and the frames cleaned and painted. New foam and new upholstery. Carpet replaced, lthough you can see some wear on the front drivers carpet now. Gauges restored and all switches on the dash were disassembled, leaned and lubed. All motors (wiper, eater fan, tarter) were gone through, s well as electrical components like the voltage regulator and rectifier. All wire harnesses on the car were pulled, leaned and repaired where needed. The front door panels are fabricated and not original, or is the steering wheel. The car has universal retractable shoulder belts installed, he original lap belts were not re-installed but are available to go with the car. The speakers on the rear deck are not original. The speakers are run off a small amp that has a 3.5mm plug to use a phone or similar device. The radio lights up and works, ut sounds awful so the speaker wire is not connected.

Body:

The car was fully stripped down to bare metal inside and out. Seams sealed then epoxy primer with basecoat/clearcoat. The underside is coated in truck-bed liner. New weatherstrip, lass seals and channels. The doors are not set fully flush since the door weatherstrip is slightly fat, hey probably can be readjusted as the seals set and age. There are a couple of door scuffs on the paint. In general, he exterior is very clean and looks nice, ut it is not a flawless paint job and there wasn't a ridiculous amount of time spent leveling it for a true mirror finish. Window regulators, oor hardware, hifter and pedals cleaned and lubed, ll work well. The outside mirror is from a Z600 coupe.

Finishes:

Many things were powder coated for longevity. The rims, pare tire tub, ear brake backing plates, trut bodies, umper brackets, oot pedals, hifter bracket and door hinges were coated in either black or silver. In the engine compartment, everal things like brake components and engine covers were coated in a matte clear to preserve a clean aluminum look. The outside of the heat exchanger and cylinder fin covers were done in a black wrinkle. The air cleaner housing, eater fan housing and several other things were also powder coated. The exhaust header and hot components of the heat exchanger and downpipe were painted in a high heat ceramic silver. Several components under the hood are zinc plated with yellow chromate.

This car starts easily, uns great and is extremely fun to drive. The engine isn't up to winning any drag races (they are rated at 36 HP) but it handles like a go kart. All the little things work well such as lights, eater, nstruments and wipers. It's rare to stop somewhere and not get asked about it.

I'm happy to work with you if you would like to arrange a third party inspection somewhere near me.
