Car description

Listing this for my friend who has owned this about 10 years. Was bought new in Colorado and traded in at a local Chevy dealer in Nebraska with the transmission bad about 15 years ago. The body is 100% factory original paint and had the GM paint peeling problem so a lot of the original paint is down to factory black primer. The truck has just one rust spot behind rear wheel on passenger side as shown in the pictures. The opposite side has just a small speck showing through the original paint there. Everywhere else is rustfree. Door jambs. cab. nbsp; cab corners. box both inside and out and above wheel wells and rear box floor it is clean factory paint. The bed floor is near perfect as is nearly all the sheet metal. a couple of small scrapes and dings on the box. The truck basically needs a new paint job like it should have had back in the 80's and it is one of the cleanest 81-87's you will find anywhere. The owner had and took a chance to buy a near new 87 GMC and has relunctantly decided to sell this 1982 that he had put some much into. He was planning to have it painted locally and as we discussed that a new buyer would not be able to see how clean and untouched the body was if it was covered with new fresh paint. So here's your chance to see it in factory original condition and then drive it as is or paint it however you want. You won't be disappointed. All mechanical work was done by professional mechanics and done int he last 15k miles which included:rebuilt turbo 400 automaticnew engine rear main seal. filters. vacuum pump. fan clutch. alternator. dual batteries 6 months old. rebuilt injection pump in the last year. It came from factory with the 4:10 gear ratios and after a lot of discussion with professional gear builders it was decided to keep the stock turbo 400 3 speed automatic behind the torque driven low rpm factory 6. 2 diesel and then lower some rpm's at interstate speeds by changing out the ring and pinions front and rear to 3:42 ratios. The rear end is also a 14 bolt with a new limited slip differential installed at the time of the new ring/pinion and all the parts were brand new all the way from brake drums to the bearings to the ring and pinion. All done by a suspension shop in Lincoln Nebraska. Well over $5000 was invested as it was never going to be sold again. Also installed new springs and complete rebuilt with new name brand suspension components. Also has new Billsteins on rear and new factory quad front shocks. The truck starts and drives like new and cruises down the interstate while getting over 20 mpg continuously. Has working factory dual tanks and guage works both tanks (new transfer switch installed). near new Cooper tires. actory original exhaust in great shape. The cruise control works as new with switch and transducer is new as is the wiper motor. All the windows and locks work as new. Windshield replaced recently. Just has a new factory blue cloth headliner installed last week and the seat is near NOS. It was a brand new take out cloth seat installed a few years ago and it sits and looks like a new 1982 should. The interior is another great point of this truck. The door panels have no chalking and are just very nice along with the carpet. The original dash pad as seen in the photo has two small cracks in the speaker area but nothing over the front. All gauges work and also the factory radio. Just a real clean original survivor GMC that has never been out in the salt chemical roads its entire life. There is no frame crusty rust area at all and it even shows the factory crayon marks on the frame and rear end. It has factory paint on the floors and of course there is NO rust in the rockers. supports or floor boards at all nor any repairs ever. Even the doors under the lips are factory fresh and no hint of and rust at all. Factory labels still on drivers door. AC works fine every summer but add a little freon every couple years. Very low reserve and this truck will start and run effortlessly to anywhere in the US. It is a 1982 and shows 90. 00 miles but the title mileage is marked exempt since it is over 10 years old in Nebraska. Could be 190k but for a 33 year pickup it runs and drives like a new one. If you would like to talk to the owner himself please by all means. nbsp; be respective by calling only between 7:00am to 9:00pm CST. Truck is garaged near York. Nebraska and can be viewed before auction ends by appointment only. His phone number is area code (four. zero. two) 366-4691On Feb-01-15 at 02:47:44 PST. seller added the following information: This is really a great running and driving Sierra Classic 3/4 4x4. Look past the failing factory paint to see how solid this Midwest farm truck is. It has been well taken care of and never abused one bit from new. It will start right off even after sitting for weeks in the shed. I wouldn't think twice about jumping in it and comfortably driving it anywhere and at anytime. It drives smooth and tight and there is nothing mechanically that needs attention as it is always 100% maintained and dependable. If not sold. we may go ahead and refinish the truck in this original blue and install new side moulding and relist. But it sure is the time if you want to buy it for way less and refinish it to your colors and trim. This truck just has never been lifted or modified either. That factory dual GM exhaust is still in great condition and hanging in its original hangers. Look closely. On the title one minor rear accident reported in 2004 right here in York County. There is still no paint work or repairs that have been done to the rear of this truck ever. The rear chrome applique was replaced due to some damage and the rear bumper may have had a slight dent in one corner. I no longer have this rear bumper on this truck but there is no damage whatsoever to the frame rail or the back of the cab. The damage was limited to a dented rear applique on the tail gate and if you count the dinged corner of the bumper that was removed and used on another truck. I may have some of the original taped side mouldings that have fallen off over the years but I was planning on new paint and new 3M factory style chrome side moulding. ALl the sheetmetal will just need stripping the factory paint and maybe a few dings repaired but nothing major. Will need one small patch behind the passenger side rear wheel and that is it. Bed is in remarkable original condition and no liner material or hitch ball ever installed.
