Car description

This 1961 GMC C10 has that attraction where an honest day's work meets intricate detail and style. It's the kind of appeal that comes from a real truck that can be put to real use, but still turn heads no matter at a cruise-in or a hardware store run.The bold jet-pod styling of the new 1961 GMC trucks is now a thing of legend. The body has a wraparound crease that proves the '60s were a great time for designers even at GM's truck division. You can see all these details today thanks to great care with the sheetmetal. The bright turquoise and white paint represents the era perfectly, and it also is a great completing color to the blond wood in the truck bed. This very bright package is complete with chrome on the bumpers and classic '60s-style chrome wheels. This one even carries the cool "V6" badge on the front fenders, which is an important piece to a 1961 GMC, but more on that shortly. This pickup keeps its workman attitude on the inside, but with all the right upgrades. For example, this is a bench seat truck, but now the space for three has comfortable cloth cover. Beyond the thin, grippy steering wheel is an original style gauge package. A tach has been added, which is exceptionally handy in this stick shift GMC. The dash looks great dressed in the exterior turquoise, and everything feels period correct. The one exception is the radio that has the knob-style appearance to fit in with the 60s, but you can see this is a more modern digital tuner that also has an auxiliary input. So you can listen to the most modern tunes in your very vintage pickup.GMC invested in one of the first mass-produced V6 engines, and 1961 was the inaugural year. With 305 cubic-inches inside, it's got V8 levels of horsepower and the four speed manual really helps you move this pickup around town. The truck is a great representation of this unique motor. The burly V6 not only wears the correct bright red engine enamel, but also the exhaust manifolds, fan, air cleaner, and carb (possibly the factory-correct Holley) all look accurate, if not original. There's plenty of work-ready ability in this surprisingly powerful V6 pickup, and the modern BF Goodrich Long Trail tires help, too. But if all you want to do is cruise around town, this pickup is happy to oblige. Remember, this is also the beginning of the trailing arm rear suspension era that made these GM trucks ride much better than their leaf spring counterparts. Here's a vintage pickup that looks great and has a story to tell. It's amazing you can get all of this for such an affordable price, and that's why we know it won't be in our showroom long. Call today!!!
