I have up for auction a very original 1978 F150 Ranger XLT 2wd 4 speed. Please read the attached Marti Report(pic). This is a very capable daily driver if desired. Runs and drives amazing. 3.00 gear ratio so it cruises down the freeway@70 no problem. I have been driving it for a few months after some things being recently replaced. Here is a list...

The engine runs smooth and quiet with stock intake, carb, and no aftermarket upgrades other than the Flowmaster exhaust. The Manual 4 speed shifts properly and the clutch feels good. This truck has the AC intact. Currently no belt and spins freely. The brakes work great and the parking brake as well. The steering is tight and the power steering is not noisy unlike some Fords of these years. The front tires are good (235x75x15), the rear tires are near new (30x9.50x15). The radiator was changed because the original oversized radiator was leaking. The original radiator with fan shroud will come with the truck in the bed as well as a spare tire-wheel combo.
The body is very solid and rust free for 42 years old. Floors, door jams, cab corners and body seams show no rust. It seems the drivers side rear bed to be the only spot to be showing minor rust(pic). It looks to be original paint with some small dents, scratches and chips. All exterior lights are in working order. Tailgate works as it should.
The interior of the truck is all original except the radio. The Kenwood aftermarket radio works well. The headliner is new. The dash pad shows no visible cracking and is in good condition. The original carpet is faded and torn by the driver's door. Rear view mirror unmounted but included. All lights and switches work properly. Heater works.
Overall, this is a great base to restore or drive as is. It is in good condition for its age, but has some flaws so I believe the reserve price is fair. Please do not bid unless you intend to pay! If you have low feedback, please message me before bidding. This is a used, unrestored vehicle. No warranty is implied or expressed. I am not a business and this is a private party sale. I have shared to the best of my knowledge what will be helpful to the next owner. I can store the vehicle for up to 30 days in my fully fenced property. I accept wire transfer, cash in person, cashiers check or PayPal. I will help with shipping in any way I can. Please message me for ANY questions. TRUCK IS FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION EARLY.
