Car description

This is a very original and unabused '89 Mustang LX 5.0 Convertible that has clearly been well taken care of. This car runs and drives great and is ready to be driven and enjoyed right now. According to the AutoCheck Vehicle History Report this car was shipped to a dealer in Rhode Island on 6/22/89 and remained in RI until 2014 - clearly it was stored during the winter months. The report also indicates a clear title and no accidents - further details below:
Exterior:
This car is believed to have all original Scarlet Red paint that is overall in great condition - has a nice shine and is very presentable. There is some minor "road rash" present behind each of the tires (see pictures) which is consistent with foxbodys of this era with original paint and some miles on them - it makes me appreciate the originality even more. The glass and emblems are all in nice condition - all of the exterior lenses contain Ford part numbers which leads me to believe they are original as well (right front corner lense has a chip in the lower area). The cosmetic windshield trim has shrunk slightly but has no effect on keeping water out when washing the car. There are some miscellaneous very minor chips/dings that don't even show up in the pictures (again, typical of any original paint car that has been driven) and the trim shows some wear in certain areas. Matching VIN tags are all present on the hood, front bumper cover, bottom of both doors, rear quarters, trunk lid and rear bumper cover (the rear bumper cover VIN only is illegible but it is there and appears factory) the door/trim tag is there as well. The convertible top shows some wear (see pictures) but functions excellent - a convertible boot will be included. Later model 16 inch Pony wheels have been added (I have the original 15 inch wheels that will go with the car), the center caps have some chips in them and the tires are in excellent condition. Overall this car looks great going down the road or filling up at the gas station.
Interior:
The interior is in very nice condition. The door panels, sill plates, kick panels, steering wheel, dash, gauges, heat and a/c controls are all in nice condition. The top of the automatic shifter shows some wear, the ashtray door doesn't function properly (very common), the console lid latch portion is broken (the console still closes fine, just doesn't latch tight). The seats are in great condition, drivers seat shows some wear (see picture). The door and trunk weather stripping is all still pliable and in nice condition. All gauges and interior lighting works including the instruments and heat and a/c controls. Exterior lighting anddirectionals all work as well right down to the rear license plate lights - the aftermarket JVC radio works as well (I have the original radio that will go with the car). Overall the interior makes this car a comfortable (has tilt wheel) and enjoyable car to drive.
Undercarriage:
The undercarriage must be seen to appreciate, it is in excellent condition with absolutely no patches or issues. There is some extremely light surface rust on certain areas (see pictures). The fuel filter housing and rear fuel line have some light surface rust, no repairs needed - purely cosmetic. There is some normal seepage from I believe the rear main seal (typical on these cars) that is minor - it leaves a few drips on the floor over time but that is all. Under the hood the strut towers are in beautiful condition.
Drivetrain and Driveability:
The 5.0L engine appears to be completely stock, the only modification that I can find is the Flowmaster catback exhaust which is recent and sounds great. There are no funny noises or smoke on start up - the engine, automatic transmission and rear end all function excellent with no issues. The brakes feel great, the car has no odd vibrations, the heat and a/c function properly, this car can be driven home.
