Car description |
---|
I have owned this car since 1989 and it has been pampered and sitting in my garage for much of this time. From what I know I am the third owner.I purchased it when I was in college in New Jersey and the person I bought it from told me a minister had owned it before her and he basically drove it to church and back. At the time, it had 44k miles, and now (30 years later!) it is only up to 101k. These are the original miles on the original engine.
This is a rare find and a well looked after car. I had the exterior repainted in the late 90's to its current light blue shade that I believe was a standard Ford color on Thunderbirds that year. The car needs minor aesthetic work including: front seat upholstery patch, track down original gas cap, trunk lock replacement, new radio antenna, and weatherstripping on door seals.
Mechanically it starts right up and runs well, just needs some carburetor work. (It's been like this for years, but if you press too hard on the gas it can stall.) Other than that the car is very reliable. Not that I'd recommend it, but many years ago I drove this car from New Jersey to California and back!
