Car description

My dad and I have decided to sell our awesome 65 Mustang fastback which we've enjoyed for almost 6 years.

It starts, runs, stops, and drives great. We have had zero problems with it over the years, and have performed preventative maintenance to ensure it always stays that way. It has absolutely no problems now, so if you would like to drive it hundreds of miles to take it home, you are welcome to do so. It's lots of fun, has plenty of power, and handles well whether you're on the highway or on curvy winding roads. It runs and drives smoothly, is instantly responsive without any hesitation, it idles properly, and does everything that you expect a completely finished car to do. It can run cool all day in hot weather, in traffic, or at speed. Turn the key, turn on the cold air conditioning or heat, or roll down the windows and enjoy! This is a VIN "C" code meaning it's a 289 V8 from the factory with the original 2 barrel.Someone contacted me about this being a very early production fastback. According to door tag it was built September 2nd 1964. Various sources say that fastback production started some time in August 1964. I have not researched further. Based on the tag it has the correct engine, transmission, and carburetor.
It's finished, restored, and ready to enjoy the moment it is yours. The paint color I believe is Rangoon Red, and is about 10 years old by my estimation and it looks beautiful. No dents scratches nor rust. Chrome is perfect. Door hood and trunk gaps are straight and even. Everything's been kept as original looking as possible, and I point out the many correct details under the hood like the Ford branded radiator hose and correct hose clamps, correct valve covers, and various stickers and markings where they belong, just to name a few, some of which you can see in the photos.

I like to view photos of concours winning cars to compare little details. The date code on the engine is correct for this car. The automatic transmission was professionally removed, rebuilt and re-installed approximately 2 years ago only to correct a leak at that time. The torque converter was replaced as well. All stock specs, it shifts and operates perfectly. The air conditioning blows cold and was professionally converted to modern R134 several years ago. In 2017 we replaced the starter, battery, and solenoid, as preventative maintenance. A couple years prior, we replaced the alternator, regulator, water pump, belts, thermostat, coolant, spark plugs, coil, ignition wires, again all just maintenance. We also added the idler pulley to the air conditioning belt as was done by Ford dealers back in the day for quieter operation. The brakes have been upgraded to the much safer two-circuit power assist, since the original in 65 is single circuit and the entire system fluid was replaced. Brake lines were all replaced a couple years prior as well. The original master cylinder is in a box and included. Floors and everything are solid. Underneath is a sight to behold too, and I encourage you to put it on a lift. It's very clean, no rust, no holes, no rot, and no thick undercoating to hide anything. Tires are just a few years old and have nearly full tread remaining. The dual exhaust has a stock sound with the nice V8 mustang rumble. Included in the trunk are a pair of brand new flowmaster mufflers still in the box, in case you want to increase the sound. Tires are just a few years old and should last a long time. Also including an extra Magnum wheel that matches the other 4, in new condition, and there's another spare wheel and tire and jack in the trunk. We're also including an aftermarket thick-rim steering wheel which we used until putting it back to the stock wheel. Interior - again it is all restored and the pictures speak for it. It looks as beautiful in person as it does in the pictures, all solid without any rattles while you drive. Glass is all clear, with no chips or scratches or fogging. Hand crank windows operate smoothly, corner vent windows open and close fine. All exterior and interior lights, gauges and equipment, including the AM radio, horn, turn signals, headlights, wipers, reverse lights, and anything I may have forgotten to mention, all works properly. Indicated odometer mileage is not actual.Any time I go for a drive, I get compliments and waves from others. Park somewhere or pull into a gas station, and somebody is going to come over and talk. It gets lots of attention everywhere, for its looks, really stands out at car shows too, and as I said is a pleasure to drive. Turn-key, ready to go, starts right up in any weather, and it is always garaged.
Negotiable. Please text me at (434) Five Zero Nine - Four Five Nine Nine if you have any questions and we can talk for as long as you like to get all the details. You can also call and/or leave a message. Thanks.
