Car description

In 1969 Ford did not have the foresight to build a Boss 302 in convertible form. If they had, it would have been a tremendous success. This is a tribute to what a Boss 302 convertible could have been. The builder of this car had a vision, and we believe he fully accomplished his goal. Beautiful five year old, complete frame up restoration. 302 four barrel engine. Brand new custom interior. New paint. Almost every piece of exterior and interior trim is new. New tires and wheels. Shaker hood. You can show this car, take it to cruises, and just drive and enjoy it. Runs and drives as well as it looks. Turns heads wherever it goes. This is an opportunity to own a unique, investment quality custom that would be a valuable addition to any collection. Priced to sell. Just arrived. More info and photos will be added soon.

For 55 years, the Ford Mustang has been the iconic model of the muscle car era for enthusiasts all over the world. Born from the imagination of Lee Iacocca, vice president and general manager of the Ford Division, the first Ford Mustang debuted on April 17, 1964, at the World's Fair in New York. In a stroke of advertising genius, Ford also revealed the car to the public on the very same day. Ford had heavily marketed the Mustang prior to the release date. Optimistic annual sales of 100,000 units were projected. Original projections were obliterated, however, when 22,000 Mustang were sold on the first day. By the end of that year, a total of 418,812 Mustangs were sold. A star was born, and the rest is history. Several generations have been released since then, but the Mustang today still ranks as the world's favorite muscle car, with millions sold.

1969 was the second redesign of the line, and one of the most significant. Ford was able to hire Bunkie Knudsen and designer Larry Shinoda away from GM, and with their input, the 1969 model exploded off the drawing board. This model is immediately recognizable, with dual headlamps, and a switch from the grille's pony and corral to an off-centered pony and tribar emblem. This year stands alone, as the company probably never offered this range of options and models again. More engine options were available than ever before. New, high performance models were featured, topped by the venerable Boss 429. 1969 was indeed a pivotal year for the Mustang.
