1968 ford LTD

I have for sale a beautiful 1968 Ford LTD brougham with just 33. 00 original miles. This car belonged to a little old lady who lived in the oakland hills and only used the car to drive to the store and church. It was in a partial garage. so was slightly exposed to the elements. but never sat directly outside in the sun. When the woman passed. her estate was handled by the lawyer from whom I purchased the car from. When I acquired the car. it had been in storage for the past 4 years. in order to get it running i replaced; Water pump. thermostat. fan clutch. plugs. wires. cap. rotor. coil and did the pertronix electronic conversion. also replaced the tires and all 4 shocks with KYB. After adding some fresh gas and doing an oil change. and letting some penetrating oil soak in the cylinders for a few days for good measure. the car fired right back to life without hesitation. The 390 sounds extremely healthy. runs quiet and with zero smoke or odd noises of any kind. Transmission shifts great. Car has factory disc brakes which operate perfect and bring the car down from speed quite nicely. The original paint shines well. but the car has developed some surface rust pitting on the hood and trunk lid. The only real rust spot on the whole car is under the vinyl top under the back window on the passenger side. other than that the car is basically rust free. A few pieces of the beltline chrome trim are munched up. with the passenger front fender trim being the worst one. the result of the car being parked by "brail". Couple of shallow dents on the body; one on the drivers door directly in the middle of the door. one on the drivers front fender and one on the passenger side fender. No major accidents of any kind however. and these dents may be able to be repaired without painting the car. The interior looks almost brand new. dash is immaculate as are door panels. headliner. rear seats. almost everything inside looks perfect. The front seat could stand a light cleaning. but i wanted to retain that great old ford smell. not stink up the car with a chemical cleaner. Hidden headlights work perfect! Car needs just a few more things to be a daily cruiser; The carb needs a rebuild (which i will probably get done before the car sells) and the front upper control arm bushings need to be replaced. and the A/C compressor is missing. all other parts are present though. Other than that. the car is an amazingly comfortable and reliable driver with an exquisite ride and more than enough power. Im really sad to see this car go. was one of my dream yachts. but i have to make room for other projects. Thanks for looking and happy bidding. On Feb-04-15 at 17:25:52 PST. seller added the following information: Car has the brougham interior option. with split front bench seat with driver and passenger middle armrests. Car also has original spare tire and jack in like new condition and trunk is beyond belief clean. Seems to have had some kind of plastic sealer sprayed on from factory with tailor cut felt padding and masonite quarter panel fillers. I can send trunk shots on request.
