Car description

For sale is a 1972 Ford Maverick 4-door sedan with the 250 L6 engine and automatic transmission. The car has just over 83,000 miles on the odometer and has nearly all the receipts, smog certificates, registration cards, and other paperwork going back to when the car was new. It has been a Bay Area car its entire life, and the registration is current and title is clean and in my name. The car is in very good condition, though has a few flaws as described below to minimize the potential for surprises. Photos are the best indicator of condition, so I've included as many as necessary.
BODY
The body is in great overall condition, with only minor imperfections and blemishes. The paint still retains quite a bit of shine after a waxing, given its age, though it has very minor imperfections that are only noticeable up close. There is very little rust on the body - just a small spot near the rear wheel well on the driver's side and a couple tiny bubbles on the very front of the hood above the grille; nothing that can't be sanded down and touched up, I'm guessing. There's some surface rust on the bumper and inside the trunk, but nothing too major. The rear windshield is tinted and the spare tire - likely original - is in the trunk with the tools.
ENGINE / DRIVABILITY
The car starts up and runs with no issues, so long as its given a few pumps of the gas pedal. To start the car, you must push up on the steering wheel slightly due to a funky switch in the steering column, but it starts every time. The lights, gauges, wipers, signals, heater, defroster, etc. all work as they should. The tires still have some life left. I recently installed a new replacement antenna on the car which looks just like the original, however I have not connected the cable to the radio. The horn does not work as the steering wheel hub isn't too secure and is missing the contact switches. An aftermarket woodgrain-rimmed metal-spoke steering wheel is included in the trunk should you decide to install it instead. The previous owner put on an aftermarket rectangular exhaust tip for a deeper sound.A pair of spare keys is also included.
INTERIOR
The upholstery is in excellent condition with only very minor wear and blemishes, though it should clean up well. The carpet is free from any notable wear. The shoulder belts and headliner have a little wear, and the front bench seat has springs which are a little worn as well. The dashboard top is faded and cracked in places, though replacements are available through Auto Krafters. The glass is clean and free from cracks and chips.
The car is located in San Jose, CA. Payment is due in full within 3 days of purchase, via cash in person or certified cashier's check. I will also accept PayPal if you choose to pay the fee (3%). It's the buyer's responsibility to arrange shipping, if desired, and I will work with the shipping company to accommodate their schedule and be present for the vehicle pickup. Please ask any questions beforehand. Thanks for looking!
