Car description

1935 Ford Model 48 Tudor CaliforniaCoupe Sedan"You will think that a lot of the old roads and streets have been repaved when you ride in the New Ford V-8. There have been many favorable comments about its comfort. Frequently you hear an owner say - "This year's Ford is the smoothest, easiest riding car I have ever known." ...Such enthusiasm is not due wholly to the way the car rides.

NOTE: The pictures below this write-up are hosted .Sometimes pictures load slowly depending on the age of your computer and the speed of your connection to the Internet. If they don't load immediately let your computer just sit and wait for them to load.

The way it runs is equally important. There's a definite increase in smoothness and comfort when you drive a V-8 engine...Its quiet, effortless operation means greater relaxation for driver and passengers. You are at ease mentally because you are always sure of V-8 power and dependability...It is comforting to know, too, Also that you are driving an economical car. There is no doubt about that. Abundant proof is furnished daily by the 1,600,000 Ford V-8's now on the road. They show that the For V-8 costs less per mile that any other Ford ever built.” This was the original advertising for the 1935 Ford Model 48 Tudor, and it still holds true now for this classics era as it did then.

This one of a kind beauty has been meticulously restored back to its original "off the line" looks and performance. Also note that she was restored and kept in a climate controlled facility that was serviced daily and just recently went through a major restoration itself. Under the hood is the original and powerful 221 CID 85HP L-head V-8 engine mated with a 3-speed sliding gear manual transmission. The Stromberg 97 two-barrel downdraft carburetor performs just as it did when it first rolled off the assembly line.

First thing that will catch your eye is the pristine black paint job that was done on the ALL STEEL body with no rust, on the wheels is the original yellow painted spokes fitted with the beautiful white walled Firestone 6 x 16 wide white wall tires. Featuring dual exhaust that complement the curves of this American classic. When you open the door you'll notice the smooth opening and ease of closing, all the panel's line up true and straight both on the frame and sub-frame. On the inside is the beautifully restored Tan interior utilizing original factory material with wood finished paneling and trim that was expertly crafted. Original Ford factory AM radio, Amber driving lights, turn signals which were uncommon back in that era and topping it all off with the optional continental kit! The car drives, brakes and shifts very smoothly without hesitation while cruising down the coast and without a doubt amongst one of my favorite classics that I'm going to regret to see go.
