Car description |

This will be our last attempt to place this extremely enjoyable and unique piece of art and history, before we winterize/ store it. We have had offers in the 9k range... and believe it to be significantly higher in value. We realize that this car has a niche market. We are setting the LOW reserve at 8k knowing that shipping might add anextra expense. This "Bulletbird" is incredibly fun to drive and draws attention wherever it goes. ONLY a select few are able to roll something with this much style, class and presence. BUT with that said... its is not over-done and maintains all of its originality!!!
1961 Thunderbird. Not your grandmas car anymore.390 motor with automatic transmission. Numbers matching car. This classic has been tastefully modified withfront and rear airbags toenhancethe lines of the car. The system consists of two compressors, a large tank and switches for front and back... lays flat and low.
The entire interior has been gone through. All bright work was removed, clean and brought back to the original finish. The front seat covers, headliner, carpet and, door panels have been replaced. Extra time was spent on the trunk with custom built enclosures for the amps and subs.
Now for the mechanical... All new or rebuilt; brake booster, master cylinder, brake lines, shoes, wheel cylinders, steering box, steering pump, upper and lower ball joints, tie rods, water pump, thermostat, radiator, timing chain and battery. All valve covers, trans and, oil pan gaskets replaced. The Holley carb has been gone through as well, with all gaskets, seals and power valves replaced. The AC/ heater/ clock is intact but not functional. Tires are great. Straight exhaust to dual cherry bombs.
41k original miles. The story goes... Came from Arkansas over ten years ago from the original elderly couple to people west of Milwaukee. These people loved it but drove it sparingly and kept it in a garage... then our turn... next yours
Paint is not perfect but shines just fine. It had a repaint long ago. The body is super straight with VERY little rust if any. No cancer... no holes. Under side of doors are nice. The weather striping is in okay shape. Chrome is all there. No chips or cracks in the glass. Rear skirts (not shown). YES, all four hub caps come with the car. I have all new weather striping for when/ and if the car ever gets painted. I personally like its character as is. Its a driver that gets plenty of attention on the streets and at our local shows.
The front seat tracks have been modified to go four inches further back. I am 6' and it fits well. The air switches have been placed perfectly in the ash tray (right hand can rest on them/ ready to play). Leave it and drive it as is for years to come OR put your own touches and tweaks.
*Selling as is where is. Vehiclefor sale locally as well, listing will be ended if sold before end date. Buyerresponsiblefor shipping, payment must be made within 5 days of purchase via ebay.
