Car description

Up for auction is an original, 1965 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible. This car is in really good shape. It has the original 390 V-8. Then engine was redone with new intake manifold gaskets, new rear main seal, oil pan gasket, timing chain, and timing cover gasket. The ignition has been converted to a pertronix electronic ignition with Accel Supercoil. The original carburetor was replaced with a Holley 750CFM aftermarket carburetor. The fuel system was upgraded with a brand new gas tank, sending unit, and straps. The engine runs very well. The cooling system was upgraded with an all aluminum radiator, new water pump and thermostat. The transmission is the original cast iron 3 speed automatic, and the rear axle is the original Ford 9 inch. The car drives down the road smoothly. The interior is red with the bench seat in the front. The seat does have a couple cracks but still shows well. The wheels and tires are not that old and in like new shape. The convertible top was replaced in the past with a new vinyl curtain and a new well liner. It is still in good shape, and the power top mechanism all works as it should. The underside of the car is in good shape. The floor appears to have been undercoated at some point in its life. The frame has some rust spots on it but seems to be pretty solid. The trunk is solid. Red convertible top boot is included. The paint is original and shows pretty well. There are some small scratches here and there. There is no rust on the body.
I have owned this car for about a year. The transmission has a small leak, drips a few drops every now and then. Seems to go away the more it's driven. I have never taken this vehicle on a long trip so I would recommend that the car be towed if it is going to be a long trip. It has done fine around town, but again, I have never gone on long trips with it. I have a clean Michagan title, and original Michigan plate.
If you have any questions about the vehicle, please send me a message and I will reply quickly. Thank you for looking and God bless!
