Car description

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL, ILVER BLUE, 965 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE, -CODE 289 V8, -SPEED, ONY INTERIOR...NICELY RESTORED, EADY TO SHOW AND GO!!! Searching for a stunning 1965 Ford Mustang Convertible??Would you like to find a high quality, rofessionally restored, 89 V8 4-Speed that is turn key, eady to drive and enjoy?Do you love the Deluxe Pony Interior that was offered in 1965 and want an original color combination that is absolutely awesome?Well, f you have been nodding your head yes then this Silver Blue beauty is one you do not want to miss out on!!This iconic Ford Mustang Convertible is celebrating its 50th Anniversary and you should definitely be a part of it!!! I recently acquired this Silver Blue beauty from a retired police offer in the Indianapolis, N area which is where this Mustang was originally delivered and spent its whole life. He had owned it since 2003 and bought it from the widow of the original owner. It was his pride and joy and he decided to take it back to its original glory in 2000 treating the car to professional restoration and having the original 289 V8 professionally rebuilt at the same time. Unfortunately a short time later he passed away and after a few years his wife knew the car needed to go to a new home where it could be enjoyed. The gentleman I bought it from definitely enjoyed it, lthough it sawvery limiteduse. Primarily he took it out on some sunny spring and summer drives and to the occasional local car shows and cruise-ins where he took several trophies for best in class. He told me he probably only put about 500 miles on it in the 12 years he owned it. He made sure the car was always stored properly in the winter in a climate controlled garage under a cover which will be included. Aside from the gorgeous and correct color combination, his C-code 289 Mustang is also an original 4-speed car! If you have been searching for an outstanding, xtremely original, 65 Convertible that you can get in and drive and enjoy then this is one you want to pay serious attention to! I will do my best to provide enough large images, video so you can hear it running and an honest description to help you decide if this pony belongs in your stable. As I do with all of my classics, his Mustang is listed on my website and several others so if you want to scoop it up before the next car guy or gal does feel free to call me to make that happen. Sit back and enjoy!!!You will also see in the pics below that I have a couple of other really sweet Mustang Convertibles available. I have a Triple black '68 Convertible and a Sunlit Gold '68 Convertible both of which are awesome cars and are both automatics if you do not want a 4-speed car. Feel free to contact me about either of these as well.As Imentionedpreviously this '65 was professionally restored by the original owner approximately 15 years ago. The paint and body still look outstanding which should be expected since it has only been driven about 2300 miles since the restoration. The body is very straight and body panels line up very nicely. Gaps are excellent and probably the same as they were in 1965. The bumpers, hrome and trim all look excellent and most likely were replaced at the time of restoration. All of the glass and weatherstripping also looks great and windows roll up and down nicely. This is not a trailer queen but at the same time it is definitely ready to be driven and would do very well at the local shows if that is what you enjoy. While the paint and body look fantastic there are probably a few very tiny rock chips or minor paint flaws that the pickiest of buyers might detect. However, do not need to make any excuses for the overall quality of this car and I am sure the next lucky owner will be very pleased. I will let the photo tour of the body show you what you need to know:Although I hope the next lucky owner will drop the top and enjoy this Pony Convertible topless as often as possible, t is nice to know that the white power convertible top is in excellent condition. While it is possible that the top is original according to the previous owner, find it hard to believe that it is in this good of condition after 50 years. There is really no wear or tear and the rear window is very clear. There is some minor discoloration behind the rear quarter windows but otherwise looks fantastic. It operates smoothly and latches down easily and seals up nicely. Great silver blue boot cover for when you have the top down gives it a very clean look. Here are some pics with the top up:The gorgeous Silver Blue exterior is complimented by an equally attractive Blue and White deluxe Pony interior exactly as it was ordered from the factory. Seats look fantastic as do the door panels and dash pad. The woodgrain steering wheel is in great condition and together with the woodgrain dash bezels really adds some class to the interior. Front and rear seats belts appear original. All of the lights and gauges appear to working correctly including the courtesy lights in the doors. The carpeting may be original and is in good condition overall although there are some stains under the pony rubber floor mats where it looks like someone spilled coffee or a soft drink. This could easily be dyed if desired but you really do not see the stains with the floor mats in place. Original 4-speed shifter with t-handle functions nicely. Like the exterior, he interior show beautifully and you will get tons of compliments. Take a look inside:Under the hood is the original C-code 289 V8 2bbl motor that according to the original owners wife was rebuilt at the time of restoration. It is a stock build and might have a slight cam which sounds great breathing out the stock manifolds and dual exhaust. The previous owner was told that the odometer was set to zero at the time of restoration and therefore there is only a little under 2300 miles on it since that time. The engine bay is nicely detailed with the block being painted the correct black color and a chrome valve cover and air cleaner dress up kit. This is an original 4-speed car and it shifts very nicely and is a lot of fun to drive. The previous owner replaced the clutch about 2 years ago. He also serviced the transmission and rear end at the same time and this Pony does not drip any fluids! He also had the front end rebuilt with new ball joints and bushings and this Mustang handles the road very nicely. It has manual steering and manual bakes but handles easily and stops as good as many of the disc brake Mustangs I have had. You will have a blast running through the gears on the open road or highways. This Pony is built to be driven and enjoyed!!! Beautiful styled steel wheels wrapped in a great set of Hoosier radial white letter tires with tons of tread life left. The undercarriage and inside of the trunk are rock solid with no rust issues. Floor pans and torque boxes look awesome. This Mustang was obviously well maintained and pampered over the years. Judging from the condition underneath this car I doubt it saw many winters if any. Original vin # stamping on the drivers inner fender and door tag. Make sure you listen to the video that follows to hear this Pony running!
