Car description

My GTD40 Show/Track car is for sale. I have enjoyed this car both on the track and on grand tours to the Los Angeles area an up to Seattle and Mount Rainer. The twin electric mirrors, ruise control and A/C make this a very nice road car and the 325hp small block Ford make it low maintenance as well as gas friendly. On the trip to Seattle I averaged 18mpg. The car comes with the factory prepared build manualprinted and on CD. There is also a special manual I have printed that covers specifics about the transmission, rakes, lectrical switches, am, ifters, uspension and other parts unique to this car. framewas zincmetal sprayed before chassis paint was applied. The suspension arms are all chromed. Custom Bilstein competition adjustable gas shocks fitted with 325lb. springs at the front and 300 lb. at the rear are installed. Modified servo assisted brakes are used. 11inch vented discs with 4 pot Datsun calipersat front and 12 inch vented discs with Mitsubishi Starion calibers and built in handbrake are at the rear. A quick release steering wheel on an adjustable column works a bump steer corrected rack and pinion steering. There are 2 sets of knock offaluminum Jongblod wheels - 4 - 8"x15" fronts and 2 - 10"x15" and 2 -2 11"x15" rears. The inner fender wells are cladwith polished stainless steel. The transmission is a Chris Cole modified 5 speed transaxle, imilar to those used in early Lotus Espritturbos. Improvedwith a 1 piece mainshaft, new 2.66 first, .75 second and .756 fifth gears.Plus a Quaife LSD unit and 3.44 final drive ratio are used. The engine is a modified 1965 Ford 289 with forged 10 to 1 flat top pistons. A Crower level 4 split pattern camwith Crane Hi Intensity hydraulic lifters are used. Rods have 11/32" chromoly bolts and main caps have "Offie" strengthening bars. A hi volume oil pump and windage tray control the oil flow toClevite bearings. Ford's HiPo damper is installed and the engine assembly is balanced to race standards by Balance Technology. Ford 58 cc iron heads have been pocket ported and gasket matched and were assembled with 1.94" int. and 1.6" ext. valves with hardened seats, ouble springs, eavy duty keepers and retainers with PC seals and Magnum roller tipped rockers. This very reliable 325 HP engine runs great and returned 18 mpg average on my 1900 mile tour to the Seattle area. The fuel tanks on this car are twin side mounted 12 swg aluminum and are Explosafe filled This car can be viewed in northern California by contacting me at gt40bud@yahoo.com .
