Car description

1966 Town and Country station wagon. 6 passenger, 383 big block, 727 automatic transmission. Power steering/ power brakes, electric rear window. Rear end is an 8-3/4 with Sure-Grip (posi-traction) and 2.76 ratio. Solid, mostly rust-free car from Arizona. Odometer reads around 77,000, true mileage unknown. Was on the road about 2 years ago, running and driving. At that time a freeze plug on the engine leaked and I haven't driven it since. I have owned the car for approximately 5 years, and in that time have done the following:
  • Flushed the gas tank
  • Flushed and painted the radiator
  • New belts and hoses
  • Replaced the stock 2bbl intake and carburetor with a 4 barrel Edelbrock intake
  • Installed a Mopar electronic ignition system to replace the points
  • Cleaned and painted the valve covers, new gaskets
  • Replaced the rear axle bearings and seals
  • Repaired the speedometer
  • Replaced the tires and brake shoes

I was in the process of replacing the heater core when the freeze plug started leaking. A new heater core comes with the car, but is not installed. There is no carburetor or battery in it currently, so it will need to be towed. I will work with the buyer if they decide to have it picked up and shipped, but all responsibility for shipping falls on the buyer. If you're handy and feel ambitious, you could bring a carburetor, battery, and some new freeze plugs with you and perhaps get it driving. I in no way endorse this decision, nor will I help, but I won't discourage it.
The windshield is cracked and will need a new one. All other glass is good. The rear window is electric and worked last time I tried it about 2 years ago. The seats are in poor condition and the headliner is falling down and some of the interior trim on the doors, etc. is cracked. See pictures.
As I said, this car came from Arizona. The only rust is in the lower areas behind the rear wheels, worst being on the driver's side (see pictures). The floors, doors, etc are all solid. Passenger front floor has surface rust only. All the suspension parts are solid.
Comes with the original 2bbl carb and a rebuild kit for it, the air filter housing, wiper arms, miscellaneous trim, and a new rear U-joint. Clear title in my name. Sold as-is, where it.
