Car description

1989 Chevrolet K3500. Ext Cab. 4x4. 4 speed . Silverado trim. 257524 miles. subject to change due to still in use. When someone bids the truck will be parked until picked up. IF" BUY IT NOW" IS USED 95. 00 MILE 454 ENGINE COMES WITH TRUCK !!! ONLY WITH " BUY IT NOW " !!!!!The Bad : Needs engine . Engine looses oil pressure at idle to valve train when hot. (cam bearings???). Exhaust leaks at manifolds. Pitman and idler arm getting sloppy. Parking brake does not work. Left rear leaf spring pack has a broken leaf in the middle of the pack. A/C leaks at high side hose(not working). Radio/ cassette does not work. Pass side power window needs a switch. Lock and tumbler for ignition need replaced (key pulls out any time). Transmission in noisy in neutral and will jump out of 1st going down hill. There are probable other things I missed. Seat belt retractors work sometimes. Drivers side cab corner replacement panel is crooked. Hole in driver side bed side over left rear wheel. Needs tailgate release handle(still opens us chevy guys know how to do it. ) Clear coat is peeling and hood has bare spots. Doors could use new pins and bushings. Interior is like any old farm truck. Pa inspection runs out in 8/15. will need work to pass this year. Since I live in central Pa and drive it less than 5000 miles a year it has been emissions exempt for me. So when the pipe rotted out and cat fell off it was not replaced. The other emission equipment is still on it. Headliner shot. The Good: Its a Chevrolet and parts are available and inexpensive. It runs and drives. 4x4 works. Tires have less than 1000 miles on them( 10 ply 235/85/16's). The tires are worth what I'm starting the bid at. Unbelievably it actually runs and drives very smooth. The frame is solid with some usual scaly areas. Inside of bed is great. no rust and solid. Has new tailgate hinges. Has air shocks on rear. Looks like it had a 5th wheel in it at one time. It is just going to take to much to inspect this year. Time to thin the herd. Too many vehicles to keep up with anymore. I bought the truck knowing it had a bad engine. ut it just keeps running so I haven't changed it. Its a work horse that wont give up. I never needed to make more than a 30 mile trip with it so I didn't worry about it. In granny low in 4x4 low it idles slower than I walk which makes it great for putting stone on the driveway. My driveway is very steep and I will idle up the driveway with a full load of stone on it. I have used it for the past 7 years with the engine like this because I only run it about 400 miles a year to haul gravel and mulch a couple times a year. I run lots of LUCAS oil treatment in it and it hasn't failed yet ( ok straight LUCAS). Every so often I just change the filter and add another quart. I do have a clean 1989 454 engine with only 95. 00 miles that is not included but I will offer to buyer. If not interested I will sell it asking $1000. It was pulled from a daily driven truck that was converted to diesel. because he got access to free veggie oil. I bought it right after I bought the truck. but never installed it because every time I needed the truck it started and went no matter weather it was -20 or 90 outside. If I had not bought a spare engine I'm sure this one would have puked instantly. USE "BUY IT NOW" AND YOU GET THIS ENGINE WITH THE TRUCK !!!I used the truck today(Monday) to haul 1 ton of wood pellets. 26 mile round trip . worked well. Read the bad and good. Look at the pictures. Ask questions. Nothing to hide here. Just selling My well used 89 Chevy 4x4. Not looking to make a killing on it. With work could be a nice truck again. Great Father Son or Daughter project. Will make excellent wood hauler/ winter truck once inspection work is done. No reserve. reasonable starting bid. Local pickup preferred. Unless local. vehicle should be trailered.
