I am selling my 1974 Chevy Bel Air. I bought it in December 2012 from the original owner who resided in North Carolina. I will try to be as transparent as possible when describing the car since it is not easy to get a sense of what the car is like by a couple pictures. The car runs and drives and I have done some work to it but it also has a few issues that I will describe. Since buying the car I have replaced the muffler. bought two new rear tires. had the carburetor rebuilt. replaced the alternator. replaced the interior carpet. installed a CD player and two speakers. The biggest issue with this car is the windows. The rear windshield has a small leak that I have not been able to seal so if it rains hard. water will leak into the trunk. I have tried to seal the rear windshield from the inside and outside but haven't had much success. The rear windshield really needs to be professionally replaced to get a proper seal. The front windshield had the same issue but I was able to seal it by applying windshield caulking to the interior and exterior although it should probably also be redone professionally. The trim around the windshields also needs to be attached professional as the clips that usually hold the trim against the windshield have broken off. I have tried to glue them but have not had much success. The car does have some areas of rust on the body. most noticeably around the windshields. I have post some of the pictures of that above. The car has been repainted at some point. I am not sure when. The front right fender has a dent/hole in it and the front right signal light lens also has a hole in it. As far as the engine is concerned. I really havent had many issues with it since having the carburetor rebuilt and installing a new alternator. I have noticed that it does leak a little bit of coolant at the manifold intake and the gasket probably needs to be replaced at some point. The interior of the car is in ok condition. The front seats do have some tears in the seems that can be seen in some of the photos. Like I said earlier. the carpet has been replaced and is brand new. The trim around the interior of the rear window is cracked in places. The headliner does have a tear near the interior lamp. The cardboard trim behind the rear seats also needs to be replaced. I installed one speaker in the rear and cut a hole in the cardboard to do so. I believe that covers most of the major issues. Like I said before. the car does run and drive and I cruise around town without issue but it is an old car and does need some work. particularly the rear windshield. Please feel free to ask me any questions and I will try to get back to you in a timely manner.
