Car description

This 2 door 1951 Chevrolet Styleline Deluxe is at the optimal stage of restoration to allow the new owner to finish it out how they want it. Please read entire listing. Clean Ky. Title in hand. If you want a picture of anything not shown please ask.

Make Offer or May trade, [ if it is a vehicle it MUST be ready to drive as I am unable to complete a project, otherwise I'd keep this one.]

Car is a project, it comes as is, no warranty, no returns. It will come with the parts we agree upon, if it is in my parts list and not already installed and you dont want it, I will take its fair market value off the price. If it is on the car it stays on the car and I will not remove it nor offer a discount for it. Not responsible for any listing errors or typos.

Short Description:

Project car in Mid-Restoration the Mechanical is 99% completed, Body Work is 80% Completed, Assembly is 50% completed. 350sbc/th350 Runs and Stops strong, Lot drive-able only. Body Needs Final body work consisting of being primered, blocked, sanded, painted and cleared [ paint/clear included]. I have almost EVERYTHING major to finish the entire car except the two windshields and it will need a new interior kit. I did not spray a coat of primer to hide anything [ like some sellers do], her body is ALL SOLID METAL, with very little filler, used only to blend in the welds where panels were replaced. Serious parties can inspect it and sand it to metal anywhere they wish to prove this.

Long Description:

The restoration started at the ground and was coming up. So. The original 235 straight 6, iron cased power glide and enclosed driveline was removed, the old fuel tank and lines were removed as well as the old brake lines and original wiring. At that point the complete chassis and underside of car was steam cleaned and sanded. The two front floor pans were replaced and the trunk pan was repaired and the spare tire well was deleted. Then underneath the car was undercoated and painted '' black''. A completely new fuel system including tank, sending unit, fill hose, lines, and fuel pump was installed.

The new drive-train consists of a ZZ Crate 350sbc bolted to a TH350 transmission a new custom-built driveshaft and a 1957 Chevy Nomad reared with a 3:36-1 ratio.

The ZZ 350sbc crate engine [ w/ Vortec Heads] has, a few addons, Sanderson chrome ceramic coated Shorty headers [ specifically for these cars]. Shorty Accell spark plugs, pertronix red custom length sparkplug wires and chrome holders, Mallory HEI distributor, chrome double pulleys and flex fan, a Weiend Street Warrior aluminum performance intake, fel-pro performance gaskets, ARP Bolts with a completely tuned and rebuilt Rochester quadrajet w/ electric choke. A new 150 amp power master chrome alternator and brackets. Many other chrome parts brackets etc as you can see, including chrome dip sticks, thermostat housing, radiator hose etc.etc. The best of the best was installed, no short cuts taken on this engine.

I was told the TH350 transmission was out of a mid-80's Chevy van and had been rebuilt but was never re-installed. I can only say what I know, it does pull good and does not seem to slip moving around in the yard. We installed a braided kick-down cable and a new fel-pro filter and chrome transmission pan with a drain plug. The car has never been on the road. But I honestly believe the transmission is in new to great shape or we would have installed a new one.

The 57 Chevy Nomad rear end was inspected and looked good and re-filled with new gear oil. The drums were pulled and the brakes were completely re done and built back to better than new condition [ new pads, linkage, springs, adjusters, wheel cylinders]

The front Drum brakes were removed and replaced with a new CPP Performance front disc brake kit, including all new calipers, rotors, brackets pads, bolts etc..

The original master cylinder was removed and replaced with a CPP 8'' Dual Chrome Brake Booster & Master Cylinder including Chrome Check and proportioning Valve. All new brake lines and hoses were installed as well.

Car has a 1957 Chevy Belair parking brake pull lever and cables..

The Drive Shaft was custom made by South West Speed. The shaft is 2 1/2" Outside Diameter made of .065 DOM Tubing, uses a 1310 style U-Joint. South West states it is ''Race Rated'' not sure how many HP it is rated for.

The old Radiator was scrapped and Replaced with a new 2-Row aluminum Champion Radiator, all new radiator hoses with braided covers, and a Stainless-Steel overflow tank.

The engine bay was blasted and painted satin black; the firewall has a custom cut chrome diamond plate sheet epoxied to it for show. The battery was relocated to the trunk using a Summit Racing relocation wiring kit and a chrome battery hold down.

As for the body, Any and all main body rust was cut out and replaced with factory pre molded metal replacement panels and were installed by flanging and welding in place. The only body filler used was to blend smooth the welded areas in or to fill unwanted seams. Both inner and outer rockers are new. The doors and fenders could have been fixed but we found mint replacements. The doors came from a barn find car that had ZERO Rust and are mint. The front fenders, front splash pan and hood came from a show car that had been rear ended they are mint as well. The stainless steel ''belt line'' has some pitting under it but it could be easily filled or left as the stainless trim will cover it. The body of this car is solid metal and as close to perfect as possible for a 68-year-old car.

Speaking of the stainless belt trim, what wasn't perfect we scrapped and bought replacements. So its all comes with it with new clips, we also have all the new rubber window and door seals and clips and moldings etc.. All new wiring harness, new quad gauges, new electric wiper motor, new brake light assembly's NOS reverse light assembly's, a mint shape OEM grill, etc.. Everything needed and more is on hand and ready to put this car together, including the paint [ if you like Alsa Red Phoenix metallic that is...]. A few extras are fender skirts, the original windshield visor, rear fender Belair trim, front optional front and rear bumper upper bar assembly etc..

Since the pictures were taken the car has had new Rally wheels and new Cooper CS5 tires installed [ 0 miles on them] . And we added a fuel pressure regulator and gauge on the pass side firewall.

Besides odds and ends what is not available that you will need to buy are the two windshields [ easily found] and an interior kit [ readily available or have an upholstery shop do it your choice. ]. The bumpers will need re-chromed or painted buyers choice.

I have many additional photos documenting the build and a parts list with receipts, we have over 12k dollars invested. The majority of available parts are listed below.

Reason for selling:

This was a Father & Son project that started in 2008. Dad had a heart attack in 2010 and had a triple bypass that stopped work on the car for a few years. We got back on it for a while but with age Dad no longer felt up to working on the car and I wasn't able to as I am disabled [ c5 quadriplegic] so all I did was find parts and research and hang out with Dad as he built her. Regretfully, my Dad went to be with the Lord, and left us in March this year.

So, I have the unfortunate task of selling our project as I am not able to work on it due to my disability, nor can I afford to hire someone to finish it. She has been in a garage since 2008 and will remain there until sold.

Car is a project it comes as is, no warranty, no return.

Again the car will come with the parts we agree upon, if it is in my list and not already installed I will take its fair market value off the price. If it is on the car it stays on the car and I will not remove it. Not responsible for any listing errors or typos.
