Car description

1970 Chevy Step Van ( The shortest one made. Bumper to bumper 14 ft. ) Originally from California. (I still have the black plates for it) Was used as an electricians Van for over 20 years. Still bears the original company name and phone # on the side of the van. This wasn't recently painted on to look old. This is the real deal. The van is a light shade of tan with a brown and orange logo. The Van does have small scrapes. scratches and dings. It has a great aged look to it. The original owner kept in under a car port when it wasn't being used. This has kept the paint from being sun baked. The original owner also kept all his receipts from the time he got it. everything from tune-ups to replacing the engine to replacing a side window. I have 2 full 3 ring binders of his and my receipts. Engine. Is a 250 Straight six cylinder. RUNS GREAT !! Odometer reads 34. 00 miles. that's obvious false. I really don't know the actual miles on the engine. but. I did do a compression check and all the cylinders had great compression. I had a rebuilt carberater installed and a new distributor and electronic ignition installed. I also pulled a power steering unit out of a 1969 chevy C10 pick up. which is installed in the van as well. It does have a small leak coming from one of the hoses. I believe its coming from a fitting. but. Im not sure. I just wanted to mention it. nbsp;so there are no surprises. When I checked the numbers on The block. It is from 1979. So its not the original engine. But it does run well. Transmission. Has the 3 on the tree. clutch works great as well as the shifting. Interior and Electrical. The interior is very basic. but. its all there. There's only 1 seat . nbsp;reupholstered in the original brown. I did replace the steering wheel with a Cal 500 flat wooden steering wheel. ( period correct) looks good too. I have the original steering wheel that will go with the van when sold. On the electrical side. Here is what works. The headlights. the dash lights. the interior lights. brake lights. blinkers and wipers. Everything works except for the brights on the headlights. I think its the switch on the ground is bad? Im not sure. And the horn. I never could find one. I did trace the wire. which goes all the way to the upper left of the radiator. And still no horn. so I pulled a horn out of a 1969 Chevy C-10 pick up and tested it on the horn wire. and it worked. but I never installed it. But it will go with the van. Heater also works great. Suspension. Has a Stage 2 Porterbuilt kit with a Dropmember Touring edition and a mustang rack and pinion installed in it. And 2. 5 drop spindles with power disc brakes. Rear brakes are drum. Also has a Ride tech digital ride Pro series with one compressor and a 5 gallon air tank. Its basically set up to be as low as I could get it. with out having to cut up the van. Its basically resting on the inner fender wells when lowered. The body. Has small scratches. scrapes and dings/ but does not have any rust. very solid body. And the old school graphics. doesn't get any better then that. Wheels and Tires. 15 X 7 up front with 215/70/15 Tires. 15 X 8 in the back with 235/70/15 TiresWhat the van Needs. after installing the drop spindles. I never got the front end professionally aligned. nbsp;even though I drive it all over the place. Just thought I would mention it. And the Power steering pump. works fine but has a small drip. Other then that. The Van looks and runs great. And comes with a clear title in my name. Shipping and payment .
