Car description

We are presenting a rare 1942 Chevrolet - Buffalo Fire Appliance Co. C-100 fire truck. It is a military Class 500 truck used on the home front during the war for structural fires at air fields, military posts and defense plants. This vehicle was delivered to the Corps of Engineers in November, 1943. The original data plate showing delivery is still attached to the instrument panel. The truck corries it's original hood number, 507007. Included manufacturing and delivery documents verify production and delivery dates. Although many Class 500 fire trucks were produced for the war effort, the Buffalo C-100 is rare. It is estimated that of the 40 trucks built by Buffalo, only 5 others exist.

The history of this fire truck's service after delivery to the Corps of Engineers is unknown. It was recovered intact from a Northern Michigan salvage yard with all wartime accessories attached. The truck is faithfully restored to it's original condition and runs well. The 500 gpm Hale Pump requires cooler lines. The turbine and all valves operate freely..

The vehicle has been professionally restored to original condition from the 6 volt electrical system, to the siren, to the 7.00x20 wheels and tires. It has been expertly painted with RAPCO lusterless OD green correct for the early war period. The truck has been shown at MVPA (Military Vehicles Preservation Association) events and is a crowd favorite where ever it goes. Every drive is a parade and every stop is a car show.

This beautiful veteran of WWII is being marketed by Vehicles of Victory, located in Winston, GA a suburb of Atlanta, GA and they will assist in working with your transporter or shipper. And, international shipping can easily be handled through the port of Savanagh, GA. Or, local pick up, of course. The truck starts easily and all running gear works perfectly for ease in loading or driving home.

The State of Georgia does not title vehicles prior to1962 , so this steel soldier is being sold with Bill of Sale. The serial number of the truck is B632778 and is used as a VIN for transport or registration purposes. The owner will include all of the paperwork he has on the Chevy including factory build sheets and registration history, including the State of Michigan title to this vehicle.

Feel free to contact us with any questions and we will forward them on to the owner. This unique and rare vehicle will be a welcome addition to any military or fire engine collector's motor pool. The truck is being marketed and advertised nationally and internationally, so the listing may get pulled at any time if we sell outside of eBay. He who hesitates, is lost. Don't lose out on this classic and act today.
