Car description

For sale is my 1966 El Camino. I recently purchased it with the idea of it being a great father and son project, but sadly my son would rather be playing XBOX in his air conditioned room!

I am the 3rd owner. Vehicle was manufactured in Fremont CA and stayed in the southern CA desert it's whole life until it was brought here to Tucson, AZ and purchased by me.

Was originally Ermine white and had a 283 with a power glide transmission. Currently has a 350 SBC with a Turbo 350 trans. Paint is in fair condition with some small chips and fading. Would look better with a buff and wax.

Previous owner did a lot of work on the truck to include replacing all the control arm bushings and coil springs, updated the wiring with painless performance wiring kit, installed headers and dual exhaust, new wheels and tires, new aluminum radiator with twin electric fans, and probably more that I can't remember.

Some of the good things about the truck:

· Has been in the dry southwest it's entire life so it has no rust

· Engine and transmission work as they should (no weird noises)

· Body is nice and straight and panels fit good except for the hood

· Suspension feels very good driving down the road (all new)

· Power steering is great with no slop despite the clown steering wheel

· All of the instruments work except the fuel gauge but I am including a new sender

· Stainless trim on the truck is in excellent condition and with some buffing would look like new

· Front bumper looks straight with good chrome. Rear bumper is straight but has some chrome peeling

Some of the things that need attention:

· Brakes are 4 wheel drum with a single master cylinder. I would suggest upgrading to a dual master cylinder at a minimum and maybe a power booster and front disc brakes

· The entire heater assembly has been removed so the buyer would need to find the parts used or buy a complete HVAC kit from a manufacture like Vintage Air or Classic Auto

· The interior needs attention. Previous owner replaced the bench seat with Mustang bucket seats. Thankfully bench seats are common and the buyer should be able to find one at a reasonable cost. Included are the heater controls, radio bezel, and ashtray but they are not currently installed. I also have new PUI door panels that are included but not installed.

· The bed has been sprayed with LinX or some bed liner. The steel panel to the smuggler compartment is missing so the previous owner painted some plywood black and covered the opening. The battery has also been relocated to the smugglers compartment

This is a great project truck that could be safely driven daily after replacing the master cylinder.

Message me with any questions prior to bidding. I am open to reasonable offers and have no issue ending early for the right price. $500 deposit to be payed with PayPal at the end of the auction. Balance can be paid by cash, cashiers check, or preferably bank wire.

Thanks for looking

If the winner of the auction prefers, I do have a set of 15x7 rally wheels from a 68 Malibu complete with trim rings and hats. Winner would need to put new tires on the wheels before it could be driven too far but I would be glad to swap them for what is currently on the truck.
