Car description

This Z28 IROC-Z was purchased new at Frank Pastrick Chevrolet on 11/19/87. I learned from the second owner that after storing the car for the winter months, the original owner drove the car the following spring and into the mid-summer then sold the car to invest in some property. The second owner bought the car on 7/28/88 only eight months after it's original in-service-date with only 2396 miles on it. He meticulously cared for and maintained the car referring to it as "his baby" until deciding to part with it as he reached his mid 70's and no longer was driving the car in the summer months on nice days. I have a letter from him in the file with the car that states this car never had regular gas, only premium fuel, and was treated very well in his recount of owning the car for 28 years. I purchased the car as an investment on June 11, 2016 with 18,570 miles and since then have kept the car in my climate controlled storage building. All of my cars are registered and insured, get driven a short distance, and maintained properly even when used infrequently.
The car is all original with exception of the battery, filters& service maintenance items, and in exceptional condition. No paint work, no accidents, and no changes or modifications have been made. The body is factory laser straight, the black paint is all original & shines like new in excellent condition over the entire car. The stripes and IROC decals are nearly perfect, and the convertible top is the original with a nice clear back window as seen in the pictures. All four wheels are the originals in great condition with no curb rash, and the original GoodYear Eagle VR50 "Gatorback" 16" tires are still on the car. The underside is clean, never painted or undercoated to hide anything as you can see in the pictures. The interior is gray with leather seats, and the car is loaded with options (see the Service Identification Label for all options).
I have the original window sticker, owners manual, all of the warranty books, many service records from 1988 on, all in a nice file that comes with this car. Two sets of the original ignition and door keys also come with the car, along with the factory dealer installed security wheel locks, bag, lock socket, and the4 original lug nuts (see picture). These investment grade 3rd Generation Camaros continue to appreciate in value. This one being the first year back for the convertible since the iconic 1969 Camaro, the 20th Anniversary model, and 1 of only 744 convertibles produced in 1987 is a solid investment and collectible car. A similar car with more miles and not as original, sold last year on ebay in the $23k range. The reserve is set lower than that on this one.
I am not a dealer, just a car guy, and I have recently sold a few other cars out of my collection to some very happy new owners. The car comes with a clear title, that shows the mileage as actual at 18,585 miles when transferred to the new owner, no surprises!
My reason for selling this car is that I am downsizing my collection as I move toward retirement, and spending more of my time in South Florida.Check out the 1988 IROC-Z T-Top Coupe I also have listed at this time, that is near this same quality, but priced accordingly and a little less. The reserve as I mentioned above is set below the current market value, and I will let the auction run the 7 days and sell the car to the high bidder if the reserve is met. I will answer all questions honestly and to the best of my ability. I will also refund the deposit if the buyer comes to inspect the car promptly after the auction ends, and decides not to complete the deal. Good luck to all bidders!
