Car description

Does it get any better than a '66 Corvette convertible, in original colors, with a matching numbers 327 under the hood? Well, maybe. If you value a car that is more of a survivor than a restored car, then this car may be for you.
It was delivered in Nassau Blue, and has been kept that color ever since. There have been no modifications to the body, and the paint has a nice shine. You can tell that the fiberglass is in great condition by the good gaps and nice body lines throughout. Brightwork around the windows and lights as well as the rocker panels, appears to be original and are in good condition. The bumpers appear to be a bit newer, possibly re-chromed or replaced. The badging is correct and looks great with a checkered flag leading the way on the nose of the car, and with Corvette Sting Ray gracing that gorgeous hood as well as on the front fenders, with one more on the rear deck. While not technically a badge, the checkered flag gas cap in the middle of the rear deck is a race car inspired piece and looks awesome. Finish off the stock look with steel wheels and trim rings with Chevrolet center caps for a great looking car.
The interior continues the originality theme. The deep dish wooden steering wheel with checkered flag horn button feels good in your hands. The classic double hump dashboard of this Corvette is all stock. Factory gauges are original and in good condition. The control knobs for the lights, wipers, and ventilation controls do have some minor wear, which, like a patina, or wisdom, comes with age. A stock center console has the factory Delco stereo with single speaker, and is charming sitting sideways with its separate control knobs just above it. Seats and door panels are the correct color, and stock, but appear to have been replaced at some point. Sting Ray floor matts are a nice touch and help protect the carpeting. While the favorite visual for this car is top down cruising, rest assured that when its time to put the cream-colored top up, it will be comfortable and look fantastic too.
The numbers matching, 327 under the hood of this car, is of course, one of the things that makes it so desirable. A nicely detailed engine bay and a polished air cleaner with 327 Turbo-Fire decal welcomes you as you open the hood. There are signs of proper maintenance through the years with a newer alternator, braided fuel lines and coolant hoses, as well as a new fan and belt. Along the way, the carburetor under that air filter was replaced with an Edelbrock, and also a Weiand intake manifold. But the cylinder heads are stock, topped with those beautiful finned Corvette valve covers, and they exhaust through the original cast iron manifolds. Power runs back through the 4-speed trans and gets to the ground through 205/75R15 red line tires. The chassis and suspension on this car is also that of a well-maintained survivor, not one that has had everything replaced and spit shined.
Want a numbers-matching Corvette that you won't feel bad about actually driving? Then come on down and drive this one home!
