Car description

This auction is for a 1941 Chevrolet Special Deluxe 4 door sedan. It's sort of a barn find as it was storedin a barn since 2013. The prior owner was useing it on special occasions and weekend cruises until the startergave out . It was then put away until we acquired it. Starter was rebuilt and reinstalle, fresh 8 volt batteryclean the points, and she fired right up. Motor runs grea, trans shifts fine, brakes were down so we filled withfluid and they pumped right up. There are no leaks in the cylinders and the lines look great but even when youapply the brakes they barely stop the car . Probably need to be bled properly and adjust the shoes . For now we arestopping it with the hand brake. The car has the original 216 6 cyl with 3 spd manual on the column. I can't stressenough how solid this car is. Super solid on the under carriage and nice straight and solid outer body. I don't believethe car came from this area being so clean but I suppose it's possible that it had inside storage . The doors open andclose like new . Body panels are all in great shape. Excellant frame All original rocker panels, floor pans braces andbody mounts. Even the trunk pan and tail pan are in great shape.Paint is in fair shape but if you lightly wet sanded and buffed it could be made even nicer. Has 4 fairly new firestone wide white walls . All glass isgood with the exception of a small crack on passenger side vent window and a window roller mark on drivers side door window. All thestainless is in nice shape. Grill does have some surface rust that would clean up a little better and rear bumper hassome peeling. Exhaust is fairly new . And also appears to of had some new front end work. Steering is good and tight.Interior is all original but showing it's age of 75 years. Door panels are all intact and would probably take a cleaning.Seats are actually above average with a small tear on the drivers side bottom cushion. Headliner is intact but does have afew tears. the original rubber floor mats with carpeted inserts are still in decent shape. All the gauges work not sure aboutspeedometer. Heater fan blows and most all the lights work. I think one of the low beams was out but might be a dirty connection.Overall this is a decent original old chevy that if your handy can be back on the road in a weekend. Or if your looking for a nicefoundation for a family street rod this is a good candidate . There is not much out there in a reasonable price range or that youhave to take a bank loan out for . VERY LOW RESERVE. We have prior Maine registration and all proper dealer transfer paper workshould you need a title in your state. A lot of times we get customers that do not want to wait for the auction to end . If we canagree on a price we will add a buy it now if this helps. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at close of auction andBalance within 3 days of auctions end.
