Car description

1969 El Camino SS 396, Factory A/C, TH 400 Auto, Power Disc Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Console, Bucket Seats, Stainless Door-Window trim, SS Wheels.

This is a no-rust Arizona truck with Matching Numbers Drivetrain. It currently has a 454/425 HP GM crate engine with approximately 2,200 miles since new. It is mechanically restored and everything works well including the A/C, stock radio, back-up lights, etc...no issues. The matchingnumbers 396/ 325 HPruns well but was removed for an engine with more power. It goes with the sale. The TH 400 is in very good condition with no leaks or performance issues. Currently running a 2300 Stall converter but the stock 11 inch goes with the car.

The interior is all new, and theoriginal bench seat was replaced with correct 69 bucket seats with Legendary RT upholstery (top quality vinyl, bolsters and padding). The original shift column was replaced with a non-shift, tilt column, and a stock floor console and shifter were added. Dash bezel and pad are new and the speedo was rebuilt showing the mileage at the time of removal. Door panels, carpet, headliner, etc. are new as well.

The front suspension isentirely redone, with new stock springs, bushings, u-joints, etc. Power brake booster and master cylinder are new and correct, the radiator is re-cored, new fan clutch, alternator, A/C dryer and expansion valve, and too much more to list. The El Camino has an Arizona "Restored Salvage" title. It is fully transferable as isany othertitle. It was issued to this car because the vehicle had an interior wiring fire (poorly installed aftermarket radio) and due to low insurance limits the company declared a total loss. (I have photos from the salvage company ad to confirm extent of damage). There was no body damage except blistered paint. The salvage title was replaced with a "restored salvage" title after the dealer that bought the El Camino from the salvage company, restored the interior and remedied all damage, then had it inspected by the State MVD and proved the mechanical soundness and safety of the car and thesource of all repair parts. I bought the El Camino from that dealer. The onlybranding carried with the title is the notation "REST/SALVG".

I bought the car with the intent to restore it to a very high driver standard and that has been done. Everything works and the vehicle is very reliable, fast and fun! Don't miss this solid matching numbers El Camino.
