#'s Matching 283/270hp
4-speed manual transmission
The transition from the ’60 to ’61 Corvette was at first glance subtle, but noticeable. And from the back, a bit of a preview of what was to come in ’63. Gone was the rounded back end, replaced with a more angular “ducktail” look with two round tail lights on each side. This tail light motif would be a staple of Corvette design all the was up until the present seventh generation chan...ged to a rectangle shape. The front end was similar to the ’60, with one major exception; the grille “teeth” were gone. The end result was a sleeker and more refined look overall. The drivetrain basically carried over from the previous year. This was the last year for the 283ci engine and the last year for “dual quad” carbs. So, you could say the ’61 was a milestone year for Corvette!
This beautiful example has benefitted from a “frame-up” restoration. Meaning the body was not removed from the frame in the process. It features beautiful Tuxedo Black w/Silver coves exterior and a Red interior, White soft top and a 283/270hp engine with a 4-spd. transmission. Includes a binder with resto and service receipts. Excellent runner!
