Car description

"Holy Moly" is a 1974 Chevrolet Custom Deluxe short bed C10 with 54,900 original miles, 350 V8 engine, automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, and an immaculate 100% original GM factory interior. This truck started out life as a long bed pickup. When wepurchased the truck we had it professionally converted to a short bed (it was donecorrectly and is very nice). This truck is extremely clean and dependable. I would not hesitate to drive this truck across the country tomorrow without doing anything to it.The truck has been upgraded with many new parts (detailed below). You will not find a nicer factory original interior anywhere - the inside of the truck looks showroom fresh and is 100% GM original.

I am selling this truck to make room for other hot rods that I own. I purchased the truck from a local church- theoriginal owner of the truck donated it to his church upon his passing (the truck was transferred to the church, but technically I am the second owner). Please take time to read the full description and look through the many detailed, hi-resolution pictures below. I have hundreds of photos of the truck. If you would like to see something that is not pictured below please message me and I will send you the pictures.

Body and Chassis

All of the bed panels are brand new metal (tailgate, front header panel, both bed sides, bed floor, and wheel tubs). The green on the bed is new paint (about 1 year old) and the white insert on both the bed and the cab is new paint (painted at the same time we did the green). The green on the cab was not repainted because it is the original paint and is in very good condition considering it is 42 years old. There are only a few areas of the original paint with scrapes, nicks, etc. - I have taken detailed photos of each of these spots. If you wanted a full show truck you could easily have the green on the cab painted.

The pictures tell the story of the body. It is straight and 99.8% rust free. There are two very small rust spots on the underside of the front fenders about the size of a quarter. I have pictures of these spots below. There are two small hail dents in the hood. I have pictured them as well. The rest of the truck is dent free. The back edge of the driver's door stands out 5/16" at the bottom when the door is shut. It has been this way since I've owned the truck. You will be able to see this in some of the pictures. It isn't very noticeable in person, but I want to point it out.

When this truck was new, the original owner had the body Ziebart coated to prevent rust. It must have worked, because this is the most solid truck I have seen. You will see this Ziebart coating in the under-hood pictures. The "Stuff" on the underside of the hood, firewall, and inner-fenders isn't oil or grease, it is the protective Ziebart coating. In the interior pictures you'll notice small, round plastic plugs in some of the pictures. Ziebart installed these plugs when they coated the inside of the body panels with protective coating.

The chassis has been cleaned and painted satin black from front to back. It looks like new underneath. The chassis was step-notched and plated during the short-bed conversion. The chassis also has a small c-notch above the rear axle to provide plenty of suspension travel clearance.A professional shop did the chassis workand it was done correctly.

There are new 3" drop spindles on the front with new 2" lowering springs (we bought shorter springs, didn't cut the coils). We also installed new brakes and new shocks.

The rear-end has been flipped to the top side of the leaf springs giving it approximately 6" of drop. We put new shocks on the rear, as well. We also installed a brand new fuel tank.

The wheels and tires are brand new with approximately 500 miles on them. The rears are 20" x 10" and the fronts are 20" x 8".

Interior

You will not find a truck this age with a nicer 100% original interior. Everything looks like brand new and is in near perfect condition. We get lots of people asking where we got the seat recovered and they are always shocked when we tell them it is original. The dash is perfect. The original owners-manual and window sticker are still in the glove box. The AM/FM radio works. The fuel gauge works intermittently - it probably needs a new sending unit installed in the tank. I have noticed that the clock doesn't work and the temperature gauge does not work sometimes (this truck absolutely never runs hot, so that has not been a big deal). This is a factory air conditioning truck, but it does need repaired in order for it to work. These are readily available. Please take time to look at the interior pictures so that you'll fully appreciate how nice this truck is.

Drivetrain

Original and untouched 350 Chevrolet Small Block and automatic transmission. Starts excellent every time. It idles well, doesn't smoke or run hot. You can sit in traffic in 100 degree heat with no issues. The engine has a "throaty" sound through a Flowmaster muffler. The transmission doesn't slip and shifts firm. You would have no issues with towing if you wanted to.

I have a clear Kentucky title in my name. I took this truck through the Kentucky DMV motor vehicle inspection process when I got it transferred into my name and it passed all the tests. You will have no trouble if your state requires a similar type of inspection when bringing in an out-of-state vehicle.
