Car description

1972 CHEVROLET K5 BLAZER CST.
Up for auction is this all original first generation K5 Blazer!! I purchased this rig with the intentions of doing a full frame off restoration. It has all the right components. Its a CS, Cheyenne equipped,Air conditioning,350 small block,TH350 automatic transmission and of course its that factory hugger orange that is so popular in the 67 to 72 crowd. I purchased the K5 from the original owner out of California about 4 months ago. It has sat ever since it was deliveredexcept to move it around the shop. It has it's original numbers matching 350 with all the A/C componentsand brackets still intact. I believe it to be the original trann, transfer case and rear ends as well. Besides the wheels and tires its pretty much all there and unmolested. The motor runs good for being 45yrs old!! Hold decent oil pressure and does not knock or make weird noises. Tranny goes thru all the gears but does have a small leak from sitting. The exhaust is old and needs replaced. We replaced the belts and hoses because they were dry rotted from sitting. All the glass is good except the front windshield has a crack. The top is one of the best originals I have seen with no cracks and the hatch is in great shape and closes and locks as it should. The body is very decent being from California, but the passenger side was exposed to the weatherfrom how it sat in a carport. The drivers side is in really solid shape. The passenger side will need a rocker panel and a repair in the front top part of the rear quarter panel as well as the front lower section of the passenger front fender. See pics. All easy repairs when it comes to these full top K5's. the doors dont sag and close really nice as does the hatch. The body is really straight and only looks to have one re-spray. All the interior is intact and in not bad condition for 45yrs of use. The front seats could use a few seems repaired or just re-cover them . The back seat is in great shape for original. The console is in good condition with no cracks. Has factory roll bar and spare tire rack. The dash is un cut. Comes with new glove box liner. All the Air conditioning componentsare there. I have the AC vent ball, the ducting is just old and dry rotted. The tailgate and floors are in excellentcondition as is the windshield fram, pillarsand kick panels. With the current jump in value on the first generation K5's this 72 K5 is a solid investment to say the least. I have another 72 K5 CST that is in the final stages of metal work and I am in too much too turn back now. I wish I would of found this one first. Either way I have too many irons in the fire and this one needs to go. It runs and drives up and down the street and stops good, I never went too far into to tuning it up because I wanted to restore it. So it will need a tune up most likelya carb rebuild a seal in the tranny and exhaust to make a crusty old driver out of it. I have owned quite a few of these and know what there worth. This rig done half ass wouldfetch $25-$30k. I am just looking to recoupmy original investment and shipping costs. If it does not bring that then I will keep it. Its not like they are going down in value.
