1963 Chevy Covair 8 Door U.S. Mail Panel VanHere we have for sale a very dry and solid 1963 Chevy Corvair 8 door panel Van. This is a very rare body style of the Corvair vans. You never ever see 8 door panel vans, specially like in this unmolested condition. The panel has been sitting for 25+ years in the dry desert here inNevada. The panel was an old U.S. Mail Van which is really neat. Look at the original U.S. Mail logos on the sides and back. The patina on this Van is just insane. All four sides of the Van are equal patina which is so hard to find. The body is very straight and being that there is no rust, would leave the paint as-is and drive it like an old survivor U.S. Mail Van. That's pretty cool history in an old car. The Van is super dry, here is no rust through anywhere on this Van. The floors are solid, he quarter panels are solid, he rocker panels are solid. Very rare to find such a solid old Corvair. There is a repair done to one of the side lower portion of the cargo door. The paint just seems to be cracking there and that must be from bondo under it. There is a dent on the bottom of the rear cargo door. It can be easily pounded out straight again. The original bumpers are in great shape! The lights and emblems are all intact throughout the Van. The original glass is all intact, here is just a little chip in the front winshield. The Van has a cool accessory roof rack on it that matches the patina on it. I put brand new tires on the 15" rims. The interior of the Van is super clean. The paint on the interior is beautiful for its age. The metal is all straight and has minimal wear on it. There is even the original spare tire hold down bracket on the interior. The floors of the Van are so nice. There like isn't really even a ding in it, hich is so hard to find these days. The Van was ordered with a rare bucket seat. Being that it was a Mail Van, hey only needed one person. I do have an original nice Van front bench seat so you can change the seating if you want. The front rubber floor mat is super clean with a couple of tears in it. The dash is really nice and has all of its original paint on it. The glove box compartment is missing. The steering wheel is in good shape with a little wear and a few cracks in it. The engine is in unknown condition. I have not attempted to start the engine as it's missing a generator. I suspect that's why the Van was parked because the generator went out. The engine does in fact turn over by hand which is a good sign that it will fire with so work put into it. The engine has an option heavy duty air cleaner on it. The brakes do not work but you can stop the Van by the emergency brake. Overall the Van is in great shape for its age and for being unmolested. The body is nice, he interior is nice and with just a little work, ou could have yourself one cool 8 door Corvair van. I do NOT have a title for the Corvair. I repeat, do NOT have a title for the Van. The Van has been sitting for 25+ years in Nevada and the title was lost over the years. I do have a bunch of spare parts that go with the Van, ike the rampside/ greenbrier front bench seat, also have a pair of nice rear cargo doors. I have a pair of original windshield wipers, nd some other misc. parts. I can store the Van for up to a month so that shipping arrangements are to be made and the Van be picked up at my house. I only accepts cash, heck, r money order for forms of payment. Please contact me with any and all questions that you might have before bidding on the Corvair. My phone number is 775-830-6760.
