Car description

1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe 1965 Acadian Beaumont Sport Deluxe- 6-cylinder- Automatic- Power Steering (1 of 381 produced)- Dual Side Mirrors- Factory Console- Bucket Seats- Rear SpeakerThe car is red in color with a factory red interior. The odometer reads 00571 miles. This is 100,571 original miles. All of the original books are with the car. It has been confirmed that this is one of only 381 1965 6-cylinder SD's made in 1965.History:In order to promote automobile manufacturing in Canada, he Auto Pact (APTA) in the 1960s had provisions prohibiting sales of certain United States-made cars. General Motors responded by offering certain makes of cars manufactured in Canada primarily for the Canadian market such as Acadian and Beaumont.Beaumont started out as a trim level of the Acadian line from 1962 to 1965. The Acadian from 1962 to 1969 was based on the contemporary Chevrolet Chevy II (Nova). Beaumonts were sold at Pontiac-Buick Dealers primarily for the Canadian market but have been documented to have been sold in countries outside of North America. In 1962 the Acadian was offered in 8 models with either base Invader or deluxe Beaumont series. The Beaumont provided extra quality trim, dentifications and luxury. Items such as foam cushioned rear seats, orn ring on steering wheel, ear armrests and automatic front door dome light switches were standard Beaumont features. In 1963, he Acadian was offered in 4 series: base Invader, idlevel Canso, eluxe Beaumont or Beaumont Sport Deluxe. The Beaumont again offered similar trim, dentification and luxury as the 1962 model did. The Beaumont Sport Deluxe was equivalent to the Chevy II Nova Super Sport, dded deluxe identification and a substantial amount of luxury items. Upgraded upholstery and trim in 6 possible colours, xtra cushion padding in bucket seats and rear seats, eluxe door handles, love box light, hrome-plated heat control and instrument panel knobs. With a Powerglide automatic transmission or 4 speed, console and floor-mounted shift lever was standard on the Beaumont Sport Deluxe. In 1964 and 1965, M of Canada sold an "Acadian Beaumont" based on the Chevelle "A" body platform, nd continued to sell the Chevy II-based Acadian. This can be confusing for some. By 1966, t was clear that the Acadian was Chevy II-based, nd the Beaumont was Chevelle- based. Many people consider the cars to be Pontiacs, ut GM marketed both cars as separate makes. These cars in every year are primarily Chevrolet, ith only minor trim differences and (for Chevelle-based cars) Pontiac Tempest/LeMans-based instrument panels. This was done because Canada required GM to have a certain percentage of Canadian content in the vehicles sold in this country. The Beaumont continuing to gain popularity was now available in 4 series on the Acadian. "Beaumont Standard", Beaumont Deluxe Standard", Beaumont Custom" and "Beaumont Sport Deluxe".This 1965 Acadian (Chevrolet) Beaumont Sport Deluxe (Chevelle SD) is a two owner car from new. The first owner had it for just one year, hen 49 years ago, rs. Joyce Ann Rothon bought the car and kept it in her garage until she passed away earlier this year. Mrs. Rothon drove her Beaumont in the summers and on nice weekends. The exterior of the car was done about ten years ago and is completely stock. The engine was rebuilt 10 years ago. The interior is also completely stock and we believe it is original. We bought the car from her estate and found the spare keys under the hood in a Hide-a-Key. It's meticulously cared for and, nlike most Canadian built Acadians, t survived in our warm climate on the west coast. The only rust on the car is a little around one of the rear wheel well arches, hich probably started with some rock chips. It's a survivor. It runs and drives and it is incredibly rare. Just 381 6-cylinder Beaumont Sport Deluxes were ever built. I would wager that almost none of those exist today. It rides on new bias ply tires on the original steel wheels. Well-maintained, nown history since new, nd very clean. It would be difficult to find another on the road as nice as this Sport Deluxe Beaumont.Call Jim to have any questions answered: +1 (250) 217-1244Please do not bid on this auction unless you are serious about owning this vehicle.
