Be sure to visit the historic Flight Museum if you find yourself in Dallas, exas area. The heart of this last year C2 Vetteis the optional L-68 Tri-Power 427. This was the tame hydraulic lift version of the 427, actory rated at 400 horsepower. Interestingly, his is the rarest of the two tri-power options in 1967. Only 2,101 buyers opted for this L68 option while 3,754 opted for the high-strung L71 435HP tri-power. We were told by an NCRS judge that saw the original ad, hat this particular Corvette was born a small block as you can see by the trim tag which shows it to be built at A O Smith plant where they only built small blocks. Is that true? The engine is a real 427 / 400 hp, owever we were also told by this expert that the vin portion of the block looks to have been re-stamped.

The original VIN and trim identification plates are also intact under the dash and in excellent condition. The car isdefinitelya black car as shown on the trim tag. You can still see much of the original green oxide primer under the dash. According to the trim plate, his Corvette was ordered in Tuxedo Black with leather interior. The braided or shielded plug wires & ignition shielding helped with interference from the optional AM/FM Delco radio. The triple Holley carburetors are correct atop the aluminum intake manifold. Although General Motor had put down a complete ban on tri-power carburetor during this time, he Corvette was exempt. This ingenious setup ran on the center carburetor most of the time, ut over 2,000 rpms the remaining carburetors kicked in. This made for decent fuel economy at part throttle conditions. This particular Corvette was ordered in Tuxedo Black with black leather interior. According to someone who saw this car the first time it was run, e claimed it to be fake. However, here is a great deal of grey area in his emails. They did build big block bodies at the A O Smith plant the first part of the 67 production year. He said thatthe last produced was June 23rd and then they finished production in July through the end of the year at St. Louis. Then he said that our car was built on July 6th.What we have here is one very nice highly optioned 1967 Corvette 427/400 hp car. The 2 previous owners never cared to have it judges by NCRS. They both enjoyed the car for what it is. If that is what you are looking for, his is the car for you. It runs and drives very well, nd is a gorgeous car. The interior ordered was the optional 402 Trim leather upholstery, uite supple and in great shape. Slide into the bucket seat and turn the key... The dash is in excellent condition. The instrumentation is fully functional, own to the clock and optional AM/FM Delco radio. The optional side exhaust system sounds exquisite behind the big blockChevrolet 427. We were told again that if this car was actually built at the A O Smith plant, hat they didn't install side pipes. So, ere these added later? Be sure to play our video of this Corvette in action on the street. This is a very good driving and running Corvette. The auxiliary vinyl covered hardtop is in excellent condition. The convertible soft top assembly is also in excellent condition. The undercarriage is very clean and detailed. The suspension has been previously rebuilt front to back. The spare tire carrier is also in place. The Tuxedo black finish was redone approximately 20 years ago. The paint is showing some flaws and imperfections, ut is altogether solid. Please look closely through our photographs. We just had the finish professionally polished and detailed. Close inspection reveal bonding strips and fender lips intact throughout. It appears this is a true no-hit Corvette. The "Stinger" hood is correct, ot a reproduction unit. The wheels are Western Wheel Corp. who bought the tooling from Kelsy Hayes in 1968.
