Car description

1959 Cadillac Coupe Deville
Factory air, Virtually rust free.
I bought this car in 2004 out of a barn in Miami Oklahoma. The reverse in the transmission had gone out. It had been stored there since 1973.
When I purchased it I had intentions of a quick cosmetic restoration and make it a fun “driver,” but after rebuilding the carburetor and replacing valve guide seals and getting it running again, I found that the block was cracked. I stored the car in my shop at my farm until about a year ago. Last August, we pulled the engine and I purchased another block (1959 390) and had all the machine work done including the crank and heads. I have not purchased a rebuild kit yet, but otherwise it is ready to be assembled, and I do have the original matching number block that is rebuildable, but it has a V shaped 2 inch crack in the side of the block. I had the transmission rebuilt and reinstalled. Underside and engine compartment were steam cleaned, wire brushed, and painted semi gloss black. Fire wall and all the semi gloss block parts were repainted (notice compressor is original paint) AC compressor bearings and clutch move freely.
After steam cleaning underside and cleaning, scraping, and wire brushing the floor of the interior pan, I discovered a small area of rust on both sides of rear corners. Both sides were cut out and new metal was custom fit and welded back in.
The trunk floor pan is extremely good, I can't find any rust anywhere.
I had intentions of putting the car back together, but I got to thinking that maybe the buyer may want to build a restomod.
If it doesn't sell right now, then I will go ahead and finish it this winter.
I have new carpet in a box and the interior that I could have reinstalled, but I wanted to show off the extremely nice, virtually rust free, body. Door Jambs, inside of trunk are the original paint. The body has had one paint job in the past. The car is extremely straight except for the front half of left quarter panel. I found no rust, but in the past it must have been damaged and sub standard body work was done. The gas tank was reconditioned. I have installed brand new 15 inch radial tires and new shocks. The door panels are in fair to below average condition, and as I mentioned I have brand new carpet. The seats have been disassembled, springs have been sand blasted, and I have all the material (very hard to find) to recover the seats, but the labor has not been done. Most of the side chrome is there, but one piece is broken and I think two pieces are missing. (Hopefully from the pictures you can decipher which pieces are missing) I have taken over 90 photos of the Cadillac, so
