You are viewing a very beautiful example of a 1974 Buick Century the Luxus Edition. These vehicles from the 70's seemed to have been lost in time for awhile and for most part it was a forgettable era for the American Automobile Industry. It went from a muscle car craze where Detroit literally put rocket ships at the fingertip's of young Americans and said...."Have at it!!". Engines like 454 and 455s lighting up the asphalt at traffic lights or the likes of Hemi's and tri-powered big blocks flying down the quarter mile in 10 seconds. There was literally NO LIMIT as long as the BIG 3 could have their bragging rights, it was all fair game.
Then............insurance companies and the EPA quickly put a stop to all that horseplay and starting regulating horsepower, emissions, and quite frankly...speed. It seemed that overnight the horsepower ratings were cut in half. Which brings us to the classic, luxury liners of the 70's. When these cars hit the showrooms we had to settle for luxury, simulated wood grain and shag carpet and big V-8's with less then 200 bhp. But what we fail to realize, just as memories were made in the 60's, a new generation of memories were about to made with these big luxury cars. Fitting 8 adults comfortably made for a fun ride to high school and weekend parties. Now, the whole gang could go in one car. Back seats were converted into instant bedrooms on Saturday nights ;). Like it or not we did the best we could with the hand we were dealt. A family car during the week and a traveling living room by night and weekend. Those memories are what drives us to collect certain vehicles. The memories in most cases are as important as the vehicle we look to collect from that era.
This Buick is a prime example of encompassing all we grew up with back in the 70's. Today this car is your ticket back to your memories and a permission slip into any car show or cruise night in America. And for a car that is continuing to climb in value there is still time to get into them inexpensively enough where it doesn't break the bank in today's economy. Please read on to learn more about this 70's classic luxury car(mid size mind you) and find out what makes it a little different then your normal 74 Buick.

Exterior:
The exterior of this car is in beautiful condition showing extremely well for its age. The body was repainted and gone over back in 2006 and although it looks amazing, up close you'll notice some imperfections that are showing mainly because of its age.(see video and photos). The body is straight and free of any previous damage from what we can tell. The vinyl top is original and shows great for its age but it has some flaws that you will see in photos. All the glass and lights are in excellent condition and the brightwork is outstanding. The floors are solid and all original seams and pinch welds are intact, original and in excellent condition. The trunk is solid, rear quarters are solid with no rust. See the pictures of the underneath, as solid as the day it was new. NO DISAPPOINTMENTS. You will feel very proud to drive this car anywhere. The original hubcaps have been removed and old school cragers with redline tires have been added for a completely different look. It really makes the car and gives it an extra shot of muscle in its appearance. Please look at the photos and video and let us know of any questions you may have.
Interior:
Interior is just about in mint condition. If anything has been changed in its life its the carpet. The upholstery, trim and stainless are in excellent original condition. There are no cracks on the dash, in the seats and no rips in the headliner or any other materials in the vehicle. It truly is a great sign to see such a well preserved interior of the 70's. Everything works on the inside and the interior even comes with factory A/C and tilt wheel. Please view the pictures and video and let us know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
The engine bay is also original to the car and was maintained extremely well over time. Any item removed was saved. ie....valve covers with bolts, air/carburetor breather, 3 out of the 4 wheels with all four original hubcaps and lug nuts. A few of the original bumper fillers are there and the gas filler/license plate plastic filler needs to be installed. The car runs and drives beautiful. There is some squealing in the brakes from sitting for some time but as I drive it, they start to quiet up. It has a TH350 transmission (original) along with its original 2.73 rear that is a one legger. Air shocks have been installed and there some pictures of them filled with air. Also, a performance dual exhaust was added and it sounds very, very healthy. I wouldn't hesitating flying in and driving this car anywhere, seems very sound and reliable. Please ask any questions that you may have.

I just noticed in one of the pictures there is minor cracking on the lower part of the dash where you enter into the car. I didn't notice it until I saw pictures. Look hard in the pictures....you'll see a spot about the size of a quarter that is cracked. A good interior guy could fix it no problem. Thank you!
