One-Owner and 10.000 original miles (documented 1967 Austin Healey). California Car.

This Beautiful Healey has a very unique and "Romantic" history to it. Its sole and former owner whom passed away from Cancer in 2011, Corporal Constance Trip, an African-American female nurse/ soldier stationed in Germany during the 67-69 years of the Vietnam War, purchased this car while working at the Army base and attending to wounded soldiers coming back from the war. She special ordered this car as a Euro-German car, but chose it with LHD steering wheel and miles per hour gauges so she could bring it back with her to The United States. She drove and took care of this car lovingly until 1983 when she put it in her garage storage, only to take it out again in 2007, refurbish it, keep it stored and well cared for until her passing in 2011. So out of 53 years of its life, the car was stored for 37. ALL IN CALIFORNIA!. The car has service records from late 1970s to early 80s where it shows the mileage being in the 9000 range. She drove the car for about 500 miles or so after 1983. Her son, Mr. David Tripp is now selling the car 9 years later. He kept the car in her memory.

The car has never been restored in the sense of "traditional restoration". It was only refreshed/refurbished mechanically and semi-cosmetically. In the film, we explain all the work which was done to it.

The car is powered by a numbers-matching 2.9-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

More recent maintenance included installing a new fuel pump and lines, cleaning the fuel tank, and performing a tuneup, new E-fan and cleaned Radiator, plus a fresh Oil Service.

Equipment includes fender-mounted mirrors, chrome bumpers with over-riders, and a black boot cover. 15” wire wheels with octagonal securing nuts are wrapped in Signet SB-802 tires. Blue seats are joined by matching carpets and door panels. Burl wood trim accents the dashboard, and an aftermarket head unit and lap belts have been added.

The 2.9L inline-six features dual SU carburetors and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. The radiator was recently cleaned, and an electric fan was added. A new battery, fuel pump, and fuel lines were installed earlier this year. The fuel tank was cleaned and re-coated, and a tuneup was also performed with new spark plugs, points, distributor cap, and rotor

Stamping #29K-RU-H/15290 matches the BMIHT certificate pictured below, confirming the engine as original.

This car is currently in Long Beach, California and can be seen, inspected and test driven in person. Representation is by Alec Cartio of Cartiology FIlms in Encino, CA. (818) 395 5765
