Car description

Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

West Coast Classics are proud to present a great daily driving and rust free example of this beautiful southern California 1975 Oldsmobile Hurst/Olds 350 V8 'Tribute' Coupe! The Oldsmobile 'Hurst/Olds' was a continuation of the speciality mid-sized Oldsmobile's created and marketed by Hurst based on the 'Colonnade' bodyshell introduced in 1973. These rare cars were embellished with two special paint schemes of either 'Cameo White' of 'Ebony Black' color keyed road wheels radial tires swivel bucket seats with reversible inserts a sports console with a Hurst Dual Gate shifter and special H/O regalia. In 1974 the H/O was chosen as the Indy Official Pace Car and issued with the appropriate decals for the owner to apply. For the first time a W25 350 V8 option was offered in addition to the W30 455 V8 Big Block and although detuned considerably from its predecessors these were still very interesting and attractive newer models that at least attempted to keep the performance spirit of the late sixties alive in a new era of regulation and emissions controls. There were built for only three years with only 2535 built in 1975. This particular example has obviously always been well looked after with no rust or signs of any accidents anywhere and only very minor imperfections appropriate for its age. These were the first GM cars to feature the Hurst Hatch T-Top with smoked glass panels although this particular car was bought with the optional half padded roof customary Hurst Dual-Gate shifter special wheels gold accent body striping dual sport mirrors and Hurst/Olds badging. Despite the success of the 1975 Hurst/Olds the two companies wouldn't partner again until 1979. These Colonnade era cars are proving increasingly more desirable as alternatives to the traditional earlier muscle cars and we should expect these all American classic cars to only further increase in value from here. This is a very nice tribute to this rare marque. The car has very striking 'Ebony Black' color paint with a matching all Black interior and has the correct K code designated VIN of a genuine 1975 Olds/Hurst and it has the correct 395558 casting number on the block. The Olds/Hurst had a three speed Turbo Hydra-Matic 350 automatic transmission and the standard 442 FE2 Rallye Suspension Package of stiffer springs heavy duty shocks and larger anti-roll bars which enhance the vehicles handling. In addition to the suspension upgrades all Hurst/Olds had the upgrade from the unassisted disc brakes standard in the Cutlass to the otherwise optional Power disc brakes. The cars had special gold painted 15x7" steel wheels which have been replaced on this particular tribute car with striking after market chrome wheels. The 350 V8 engine is very strong and powerful and this particular car drives magnificently and must be driven to be truly appreciated - this is a rare opportunity to own a very fine and unabused tribute of a very striking mid 70's classic American car!For further information contact West Coast Classics through EBay or on 310-399-3990 during regular California business hours.
