Car description

This is a true 1969 Buick Skylark Custom 2 Door Hardtop Coupe in it's factory paint color Burnished Brown Poly. The last few years of my life have been an amazing ride as I spent a great deal of time bringing this car back to life and driving her every day as well. This has been such a pleasure for both of my kids as well as they have always been the passengers. This is our family cruising around car and we are heartbroken to let her go. but it's time to move on to something different. Factory options she was ordered with include: Rear DefrostPower Antenna Power Steering Power BrakesCustom Model Accent Group AM Radio Light Group Split Vinyl Bench SeatsVinyl Roof Cover5. 7L 350 w/ 2bbl Carb3 Speed Turbo Hydromatic I am not sure how many owners she has had in the past. but the previous owner had professionally completed almost all of the engine and drivetrain work that was needed to be done. I have also had professional work done on the body. paint and suspension……all to include: New Buick 5. 7L 350 Long Block New Front and Rear Drum BrakesNew 3 Speed TransmissionNew AlternatorNew Plugs and Wires New Flamethrower CoilNew Pertronix Ignitor II IgnitionNew Rear Air Shocks New Fuel Sending Unit New Custom Bent Dual ExhaustNew RadiatorRebuilt 4 bbl Holley Carb (on stock 2bbl intake)Add on Accessories include:New Vintage Air Magnum Air Conditioning. Heater and DefrostNew Electric Fan (for extra cooling)New 18" Clutch FanBody / Paint: She just had her original paint stripped off and was hand blocked and painted the factory Burnished Brown Poly. The body was taken down to bare metal and had what minimal rust there was cut out and replaced most with new sheet metal. I had both front and rear windows re-sealed prior to painting. We were planning on taking care of some of the smaller details. such as some small rust areas on the lower inner doors and some on the inside trunk/hood lips but we held off since it did not take away from the beauty and looks of this stunning car. The floors are solid and the frame is solid as well. The trunk is mostly solid but shows some tiny holes here and there and there is a spot on the trunk lower lip that needs to be addressed if you so wish. The chrome. nbsp;aluminum and pot metal trim is all there and shows some dings but looks quite nice. The body lines are beautiful and smooth and the paint is such a distinguished color that it shows plenty of the gold specks from the "poly" in the factory color. The brand new vinyl roof was purchased from a Colorado company who purchased up all the old OEM GM vinyl top material from the 70s. This color top is no longer being produced but I managed to get one made from the NOS material and it's the exact match and grain. as yes it cost a vulgar amount of money. All the factory emblems present are nice and in good showing shape as well as the Custom package cornering lights and side markers. Interior: The interior is in really. REALLY good shape for being 46 years old. The steering wheel is from a GS model and has no cracks but the horn switch needs to be replaced. There is a factory AM radio that is not hooked up to any speakers since I had an amp installed in the trunk with Bluetooth for streaming music through the rear speakers. All the gauges work and the majority of the lights do as well. with exception to the passenger turn signal (I think it's related to the high beam switch). The interior courtesy lights work good as well. The carpet is new and was installed last month - it's a great look. just needs to be fitted a bit better. There are all 5 working seat belts. the fronts are retractable. The car came with the rear defrost and power antenna options. The rear defrost is not powering on and I disconnected the power antenna as it works but needs a new cable and mast. typical 70s issues there. Because of the new Vintage Air AC system. the glove box cardboard had to be removed to accommodate the condenser. I have 2 brand new glove box inserts that can be made into one sort one that will work nicely for that space. The Vintage Air controls fit perfectly in the factory space for the AC controls - and it blows ICE cold for this Florida heat. The system alone cost the previous owner over $3000 dollars to be installed! Engine/Tranny:As stated. the previous owner had a brand new Buick 5. 7L 350 long block installed. He also had a new turbo hydramatic 350 transmission installed at the same time and from a professional shop. Both of these have paperwork on them as well as dates and costs. The car starts up on the first try and drives like it's on clouds. It has a tremendous amount of power to the wheels and stops on a dime. or as fast as any new drum brakes can stop you! The steering is nice and tight. the shocks are new and air in the rear so you can lift it for looks or drop it for cruising. The car has a stock 12 bolt rear end that is the powerhouse behind the torque. The tranny shifts beautifully and smooth. If you have a heavy foot you will light up the tires every time! This is a 46 year old classic muscle car that I drive every day; keep in mind it is not 100% restored. It will have imperfections here and there as anything that is 46 years old. I keep it in my warm. Florida garage and never have I driven it in the rain since the body and paint work was done. The Florida title is free and clear in my name and the car is being offered locally so I have the full right to cancel the auction early in the event she sells before the end. My reserve is VERY modest and only in place for the protection of the vehicle. I know what the value of this car is and what others are asking for and this car is MUCH more reasonable than most others in the same shape! The winning bidder will make any and all shipping arrangements for the transport of the vehicle - I will absolutely assist in the needed actions when the transport company comes to my location to pick up the vehicle (as in speaking to the driver. helping the driver load it on a truck. etc). I am in no way a mechanic. nor a body guy or collector. I am just a guy that loves classic cars. I am almost always at my email so please feel free to send me any questions. It is virtually impossible to describe everything so please email me any specific questions you may have. I love this car and I hope she goes to a family that will love her just the same. On Jan-31-15 at 08:16:39 PST. seller added the following information:Thanks for all the questions - to address one that came up a few times. the vehicle has an anti theft alarm system that has trigger points on at the front hood. doors and rear trunk. Once the alarm is set by the key fob. if the hood. doors or trunk open it will set the alarm off. There is also a engine kill switch at the front of the vehicle that utilizes a special key to engage/disengage. Also. although I have received some VERY generous offers to end the auction early. I want to keep it fair to all bidders. The vehicle is quite stunning and in the photos it looks amazing. just keep in mind that again. this vehicle is not restored to show car specs - this is my daily driver that starts right up and will drive under 190 degrees in the Florida heat to any destination with ease!!Thanks for all the questions and good luck bidding!!!
