Car description

1980 Volvo Bertone. Incredible car. Well kept. Up for auction is a beautiful 1980 Volvo Bertone coupe. This gorgeous Bertone is an anomaly because instead of having the troublesome six-cylinder PVR engine in it, it has the 200 series four-cylinder Volvo engine. Many swear by this engine and say that these four-cylinder Volvo motors are some of the most reliable and dependable Volvo motors ever. There were not that many Volvo Bertones made and you don't see a lot of these on the roads anymore. It is always a pleasure to see one of these out on the highway if you are lucky enough because they are simply very beautiful cars. This is one of the better ones. It starts up on the first try, runs smooth, transmission shifts fine, and the ride inside is very quiet and smooth. This is the perfect car for a Sunday weekend drive. No rust, brand new rotors all around, new radial tires and the leather seats have been treated with Meguier's leather conditioner. The interior of this Bertone coupe is in excellent condition. Most of the early Volvos that were manufactured with leather seats are in terrible condition today. The leather cracked and foam stuffing is coming out from everywhere. Not on this one! Other than normal wear, the seats in this car as well as the overall black leather interior trim rates as almost perfect! There is heat in the winter and a nice a/c in the summer. It has already been converted over to R-134 so recharging the system is no problem, should it ever need it. At some point in its life, the hood was replaced but all of the body lines lines around the car are nice and straight. The electric windows operate perfectly, the wipers work and all the instruments are functioning. The clock can be heard trying to work, but the time doesn't change. Every once in awhile I can hear a scratchy noise coming from the speedometer, but it doesn't do it all the time. The speedometer works and the odometer mileage is believed to be correct for the body. This is a solid Bertone coupe. The paint is decent and nice, with some imperfections here and there. A professional respray is not needed, but would really make this car pop! I have some very rare MSW silver and gold mesh alloys mounted on it now. They are old wheels (with brand new tires) and look real nice on this car. I had Honda center caps in the wheels at first, but was lucky enough to find a rare set of original MSW center caps on Ebay and grabbed them. The winning bidder will have the option of taking this set of wheels that's on the car including the spare or taking delivery of the car with the original factory alloy wheels (with almost new tires) and factory Volvo center caps. I will also include an original, matching Volvo alloy wheel (without tire). I don't believe this Bertone came from the factory with a radio but it does have a factory-mounted electric radio antenna on the driver's side rear fender that I am very sure will work if a radio is added. All in all, this is a fine example of the Volvo Bertone Coupe.and with the 4 cyl. engine, it should provide the new owner with many years of trouble-free service. There is a reasonable reserve set on this special Volvo and the new owner should be proud to own it! The photos pretty much tell the rest of the story about the car, but please feel free to ask questions. The person who asked all of the questions about this car before ended up winning the bid and didn't have the money to pay for it so we had to re-list. Oh well, his loss. Again, it has been well taken care of. Never driven in the rain, and should be a very nice investment that can be driven and enjoyed. I am a longtime "Ebayer" with a 100% satisfaction record. The vehicle is sold "as is" with no warranty. Buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and the car has to be totally paid for before being released.
