Car description

Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. Up for sale is this purty 1980 Volvo 244 DL with only 152K miles. This is the iconic Volvo brick sedan with the ultra reliable B21F - Fuel Injected motor. The car runs and drives great. I used this car for a daily driver with a 130 mile/day round trip with no issues what so ever. I would get in this car and drive it anywhere right now. I hate to part with her, but I have no room and no justifiable reason to keep her.
She is still wearing her original brown paint and although it is chipped, scratched, dented, faded, touched up and dulling in places, it still looks good on her. She isn't the prettiest girl at the ball, but she will definitly turn a head or two. The interior is still very respectable condition considering her age. Seats show very slight signs of wear but do not have any tears. The door panels are not cracked. The dash does have several crack though, which is very common for these cars. The windshield trim is missing and brittle in places but it does not leak water at all. The rear tray was removed by the previous owner when the aftermarket stereo system was installed. The aftermarket stereo is a Pioneer AM/FM CD with capability to stream music from your phone via an aux speaker cable. I also have an XM satellite radio paired to it.
She has had the following work done in the last 20k miles.
-Inner and outer tie rods replaced at 149K-Front and rear Brake rotors and Pads at 146K-Front calipers replaced at 146K-Master cylinder replaced at 146K-New timing belt at 140K-Replaced water pump at 140K-Hoses and belts replaced-In tank fuel pump and filter replaced-Exterior fuel pump and filter replaced-Intake manifold gasket replaced-Injectors serviced with new rubber seals-Plugs, wires, cap and rotor replaced-Flame trap replaced-Thermal piston for air intake replaced-New tires-New O2 sensor-New exhaust
Oil and filter were changed at 149K
This car starts right up every time and is ready to go. The only mechanical issue I can think of is that the A/C blows warm. I did not try to charge it since I owned her as I enjoy riding with the windows open, so I cant say if it would hold a charge or not.
She is ideally suited for a Volvo enthusiast and I like her just the way she is. But she would also be a great candidate for a full restoration. She could definitely also be used as a daily driver as she is very reliable. She wouldn't be a bad first car for a young person either as she is very safe, very reliable and very slow, lol.
While I am very fond of the car myself, and I have tried to describe it to the best of my abilities, you must rely on your own judgement to ensure that this car meets your expectations. Inspections prior to bidding are welcomed and encouraged. If you wish to schedule an inspection, please contact me through e-bay, including your telephone number, and I will contact you directly to arrange a convenient time. This car is being sold "AS IS" & "WHERE IS" and any potential buyer is responsible for ensuring that the vehicle meets their expectations prior to bidding. Bidders with (0) feedback ratings must contact me prior to bidding, failure to do so will result in a deleted bid. I reserve the right to end the auction early as the vehicle is also for sale locally.
The winning bidder is required to provide a $400.00 non-refundable down payment within 24 hours of the end of the auction. The remaining balance is due within 5 business days. I will accept Paypal for the down payment. Remaining balance should be paid in Cash, wire transfer or certified check. Other arrangements may be made, but must be cleared by me first. I am sensitive to the issues of arranging transportation if you are a non-local buyer. With that knowledge, the car may remain where it is for up to 4 weeks from the end of the auction. Please note that during this time, the new owner will be responsible for the car.
Thank you for looking at my auction. Bid with confidence. Have a great day.
