Car description

This is a gorgeous car. Volvo P1800's are becoming fewer and far-in-between by the day and this one is a fine example of an unmolested survivor. It is not a show car but a very good driver. I only drive it around here (around a park every few weeks). Tires have a lot of tread but they are old, ince I drive it so little I have not replaced them. The engine and drive train are all original. It has the 4 speed manual transmission with electric overdrive. The overdrive works. It runs good and starts right up, o smoke or hesitation. I am not sure if the engine has ever been rebuilt, hough there is a note made in one of the records I have, hat says the engine was requilt-- but I have no documentation for this. It actually is an excellent highway car, have only had it on the highway a few times. I have to be honest, ith 108 horsepower, t takes a while to get up to speed. The early Volvo P1800's with the B18 engine were a bit underpowered. But once up to speed it cruises quite well. It is a lot of fun to drive around town. It always draws a crowd of admirers. The mileage says 29,635 which I cannot believe is correct. Every receipt I have from the early 90's indicate about 27,000 or so miles. So who knows, he mileage may be correct, ut I would not represent it as correct mileage. I do have extensive receipts from approximately 1989 to about 2004. The car was in a barn in upstate New York for about 10 years which is why it it in such good condition and the mileage could be so low. But I would safely assume the mileage is at least 129, 35.00 if not more, ut again I cannot make any representations about the actual mileage. You will have to judge the mileage from the condition of the car. I do have what seems to be a newspaper add showing the car for sale in a1989, hich I believe is from the original owner. ( In the add it says a 7 year restoration was done--but I have no documentation for this). I have not done a lot to the car, t has not needed much work. I rarely drive it. Due to illness I am thinning out my car collection. I have gone through the brake system and fuel system (tank, uel lines and fuel pump. I have rebuilt the carbs; plugs, oints, gnition wires, ap and rotor and coil have all been replaced. Interior is in good condition, o rips or tears in any of the seats. The dash is good, o cracks. See the enclosed pictures for the condition of both the body and interior. The interior carpet is excellent, t looks brand new. Tachometer and oil temperature gauge do not work, he fuel gauge works intermittently. Sun roof is in good condition, o leaks ( I think this was a dealer added option). As indicated it has a dent in the right top fender. This was there when I got the car. My original plan was to repaint the car, ut frankly the paint is in such good shape I have left it alone. It does have some chips and scratches. The paint and body look very good so I have done nothing to the paint. But if you want to make it a show car, he body work would have to be done first, hen a respray would be necessary. As I indicated, have extensive receipts for the time period 1989 through about 2004. I have a few receipts from me but again, have done the work on the car myself and the major tune-up so I do not have receipts for this work. I have a Haynes shop manual which I am including, also have the receipts that I have mentioned and the ORIGINAL Owner's manual, hich I am including. The original owner's manual alone is a very valuable item. I have tried to describe the car an accurately as I can. Remember, his is a 50 year old car. Please examine the pictures closely as they will give you the best idea of the condition of the car. I have taken several pictures of the undercarriage to show the condition of the frame, ills and floor. If you have any questions I strongly encourage you to email me through Ebay. Now for the legal jargon, he car is being sold as is where is. Buyer is solely responsible for pick-up and transport. I will work with the successful buyer regarding pick-up of vehicle.Payment---I will only accept a check or cash, o bank/wire transfers. Payment in full must be made within 7 days. I really do not need a deposit. If you win the auction I expect you to pay for it. I will not send the title or release the car until your check has been cleared by my bank, nd this is only after my bank says the check has cleared. The car has a clear title in my name, hich I am able to sign over to the successful buyer, o there will be no title issues. But again, will not sign or send title until check clears. THIS IS NOW A NO RESERVE AUCTION. BID AND WIN. In summary you are bidding a very excellent little car that will provide you with many years or enjoyment. Good luck
