1974 Volkswagen Thing

A 1974 VW Thing partially restored. The "Tub" has had all rust throughspots removed and new patches welded in ready for final bodywork.The pan is in very good condition withonly one rust trough spot removed. The panpatches are already made and need to be welded in. The engine runs strong. I drove it 3 hours home before I started restoring it. Transmission works fine.The fenders are in good shape.New parts include: new front axel beam with new ball joints pressed in, new Thing Shop Top with installation kit, new Thing Shop upper and lower windshield frame, new hardware for the convertible top frame, isc. rubber parts from The Thing Shop & CIP. New side view mirrors. Four new Tiger Pawradial tires. The door handles etc. are labeled andin ziplock bags. All the major parts are there to restore it. Tasks I was going to get to include: welding the last two patches on the pan, nstalling anew fuel line, rake lines and installing new rear drive axels. I have new boots to rebuildthe drive axelshowever, y Old Time VW mechanic buddy told me just buy newaxels and save yourself the aggravation (Not thing specific). Therear lenses are cracked and need to be replaced however, hey were not "Thing specific" and therefore reasonably priced. Included are 2 repair manuals, Thingparts manual and a Thing wiring manual. Also included is aspare front apron invery good shape (sell it on ebay for parts money). I also have quarter saw oak slats for duck boards if you want them.The dolly ison casters and included.The pan fits under the dolly.You can roll it all on a U haul trailer and be on your way. I have the title. I have had a "life changing" event and just do not have the time to continue working on it. Feel free to ask question.
