1974 VW Beetle Classic Custom Rat Patina

Volkswagen Beetle - Classic Rat Rod Patina Style.
Very cool little "Head Turner" ! This Beetle has some rust but really not bad so instead of fixing it I went ahead and "added" some rust!! LOL. It's real rust not paint. Just surface rust. And then I masked it all off and put 3 nice coats of clear coat to stop the rust from continuing. It also gives it a shine which I kind of prefer but if you would like it with more of a dull look you can just take a scotch guard pad to it and dull it to your taste.I have done a few of these little bugs and this one gets the most attention. You could park it next to a red Ferrari or Corvette and they will take pics of the Dub! No kidding.
The car runs and drives great. It shifts smooth with no grinding. The clutch is great. It steers good. Stops good. Has new tires. It has the original numbers matching 1600 dual port engine that just purrs. Good power and no oil leaks which is amazing. They all seem to leak. Remember it is 46 years old. The luggage rack I bought new last year and have been collecting all of the "stuff" for a long time and I use it on other cars sometimes so it is on there for looks only. It does not go with the car.
