Car description

This 1992 Volkswagen Jetta GLI was sold new in California. I purchased it in October 2016 and have since refurbished it with a repaint in Dark Teal Metallic, new badges and seals, engine and suspension work, and more. Power comes from a 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission, and modifications include a Peloquin limited-slip differential, Koni coilovers, a Remus and Techtonics exhaust system, and BBS RM wheels as well as a four-headlight grille, LED lighting, ABT pedals, and backdated interior trim. This A2 Jetta is offered with a service log from under current ownership and a clean California title in the my name. The body was repainted in its factory Dark Teal Metallic (LA6U), and new seals, badges, and trim were installed. Modifications include G60-style fender flares, a quad-headlight red-stripe grille, Porsche-script door handles, a Bonrath mono wiper, and ABT badges. Lighting alterations consist of LED headlights, reverse lamps, license plate lights, and Hella smoked taillights, turn signals, and yellow high beams. Two-piece staggered-width 15″ BBS RM wheels with polished lips wear Toyo Proxes T1R tires and are mounted with H&R wheel bolts. Suspension and braking modifications performed under the seller's ownership include: Koni coilovers with Eurosport rear camber kit, Eibach front camber kit, and MK3 Jetta VR6 front strut tops Neuspeed sway bars and four-point rear stress bar Autotech adjustable upper stress bar Eurosport front lower bar Autotech Clubsport control arms, polyurethane rear bushings, and stainless steel brake lines The interior is finished in gray cloth with black plastics. A new dashboard was installed under the seller's ownership, as were a backdated GLI sunroof crank, C-pillar trim, and dash plaque. Additional modifications include brushed aluminum door pins, ABT pedals, a Fischer CD console, a European-market check panel and headlight leveling switch, a smoked Hella dome light, and a Votex cabin filter. The leather-wrapped Hella steering wheel is mounted using a Momo adapter and frames instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,250-rpm redline. The car has 123,000 miles. Audio gear consists of a Kienzle head unit powering Infinity speakers and a Kicker subwoofer via a Soundstream amplifier. The 16-valve 2.0-liter inline-four was factory-rated at 134 horsepower and 133 lb-ft of torque when new. A service performed under previous ownership at 108k miles reportedly included installation of a new timing belt, water pump, alternator, spark plugs, distributor cap, and rotor. I've added the following additional modifications: Neuspeed CARB sport camshaft Eurosport airbox with ITG filter 50mm European-market intake manifold Remus exhaust header w/catalytic converters Techtonics Tuning exhaust system Stainless steel fuel lines NRG ground wires Powder-coated intake manifold and valve cover G60 power steering reservoir Wire tuck Optima Redtop battery with billet trunk relocation kit Power is sent to the front wheels via a five-speed manual transmission and a USRT Smartshift2 linkage kit. A Peloquin limited-slip differential, a Black Forest Industries clutch and billet flywheel, and an Autotech HD transmission mount have been installed under current ownership. The car may not pass a California smog test due to the European-market intake and Remus exhaust manifold. Stock intake and exhaust manifolds and an EGR valve are included in the sale.
