I have a 1967 VW Squareback that I bought and had shipped from California.
I have more cars than garage space with another recent purchase so I have decided to begin searching for a new home for this classic Type III.
The car has been completely restored and looks great. I have the car tagged Historic here in Maryland, but currently have the original "black" California vanity plates on the car. They read "67SQBAK" and look great against the silver paint. The roof is painted a dark grey and I like the contrast it gives to the car. There is zero rust on the car and the pans are super solid. Not sure they are original but from underneath I see no evidence or repairs. I have not pulled back the carpet from above. The black interior looks fantastic with new everything (w/receipts). Carpets, seats, door panels, soundproofing and headliner. Dash is not cracked. I was told the motor was rebuilt, but stock, except for it now has dual carbs and runs well. The trans was also rebuilt (w/receipt). Clutch was redone also and feels fine. Brakes work really well and now has a front disc setup. It has a really nice sound system, Retrosound model 2 with speakers in front and rear. Subwoofer, USB and Bluetooth connections. Rims and tires are only about a yr old (w/receipt). And new rear shocks. I do not have the original wheels. It drives really well and has better acceleration than I had thought it would.
There are a couple of minor things that could use attention. The speedometer does not work. I don't know if it's the cable or the speedo itself. The turn signals work but do not cancel themselves once the turn is completed. You have to manually turn them off. This could be due to the aftermarket steering wheel? I do not have the original steering wheel. All lights work as they should with the exception of the turn signals cancelling as I said, even the interior light works. That's about it.
I have a folder of receipts from the previous owner totaling many thousands of dollars and a bunch of pics from the restoration process. I also have some original documentation of past registrations and the owners manual. All of this will go to the new owner. This car will not disappoint and to really appreciate how nice it is in person. Pictures can only show so much. Although I'd like the new buyer to receive the car in person. I will make myself available to work with a shipper if necessary. Any fees related to shipping is at the new owners expense. I will answer any questions as best I can and provide additional pictures, just please be specific in your request. The car is also advertised locally so I must reserve the right to cancel the auction if it sells locally.
Thanks very much.
