Car description

This 1965 Volkswagen Type 1 has been in my family for over 40 years. My family did all of the mechanical work to keep it in good running condition. This Bahama Blau beauty was always kept in the garage; hence the great condition it is in. The car has a rust preventative pan. This car also has the ignition switch attached to the locking steering shaft instead of on the "dash" board. This car also has "pop out" rear windows. The interior is beautiful.
The upholstery is not the original, but it is done as the car would of been in 1965. The car has been painted at least three times over the years, but with original Bahama BlauVW oil based paint. The paint job is beautifully done. There are also two safety belts in the back seat, as well as those in the front.

The engine runs just great, and does not leak oil. It is still using the original authentic VW starter, which works great. Under the deck lid, there is a 1914 cc, dual Weber 44's carbureted engine from Powerhaus in Torrance, California. This VW is a "SLEEPER"...but it is a VW that can scoot! At the first 500 miles with the new engine, the POWERHAUS guys tuned it up November 17, 2016...it also got new brakes and a new clutch. As for the brakes, they are the original type VW brakes. The conventional VW tires have about 1000 miles on them.

I am offering the old 1200 cc engine with 28 Pict carburetor for free if the buyer is interested, as well as all of the parts I own. The old engine was running just fine.

I also have many technical manuals (including those from Volkswagen) from the 1960's that will also go with the car. Also included is an original roof rack, and a car cover.
The New Engine Only has 800 miles on it.
Cost spent to Restore this car: $16,000 (have receipts)
