Car description

Custom Rat Rod Volkswagen 1940's Panel Delivery Wagon Beach Party BugBuilt back in 1983 using a 1974 VW Beetle chassis and custom 40 Ford Panel delivery Fiberglass kit. Iacquiredthis little gem a few years ago and decided to go Rat Rod/ Steampunk with it. Really catches your eye and generates lots of thumbs up cruising around with it. Runs good and has had a recent tune up,carb rebuild, coil replaced, starter replaced, new tires, etc. Custom wheels and adapters installed also. The lights work and stop lights work but no turn signals. Turn signal lever is still on column so you could install some if you like. Gas gauge works and heater fan works, Windshield wiper motor works. Brakes are good but emergency brake cables need to be hooked back up in the rear. The original lever and cables are in place. There has been plenty of patching on the floor and it is holding up fine for me just cruising around town. Installing new floors would really beef it up and they are available on ebay for around $280 for both pieces. I've done the job once years ago and I was surprised at how easily they pop into place. The back was done in a black carpet material and that could be freshened up for sure. I wanted to give this to my son but he wants an automatic with four doors so his buddies can get in and out easily. Go figure. When I was his age I dreamed of having a little panel truck to park in the back row of the local drive in theater with.Oh well I guess he gets a PT Cruiser instead. This would be a great little rat rod driver or you can go full on restoration with it. I saw one of these back in Santa Barbara in the 80's. It was done inmetallicsea blue with a surfboard on top and simulated wood sides. It had a surf shop mural painted on the side and it was really K@@L. Any questions fire away. These do not show up often so grab this one before I change my mind.
