1974 V.W. THING Acapulco Edition

Add smiles to your miles in this Acapulco Edition 1974 VW THING. We have owned it for the last 15 years, and have kept garaged. We bought it from a collector in Mesa Arizona.We bring it out in the spring and put her away every night in the garage and then in Fall for the winter. It has been very reliable and doesn't show any deep rust, only miner superficial. Surrey top and seats are in good shape, there are no tears.We have added a third pad for the seat on top from The THING shop, along with seat belts. Not sure how safe it is but the kids have sure had fun being picked up from school and running around town, and it gave mom peace of mind. This has definitely been a great, FUN, car to own and we are sad to get rid of it, but we know some other family will have just as many happy times with it as we have. Everyone smiles and waves and gives you the thumbs up when you are in it . It just makes you happy to drive it. As far as we know every thing is original. Shows a little bit of repaint on the fenders. The Odometer is stuck on 33,715 miles. But it all looks like an ORIGINAL Acapulco Edition VW THING, built in July of 1974. The tires are 2 years old.
We were told that there was less than 200 of these editions made, and have become HIGHLY collectible and some have sold for crazy prices.
